BS. You don't think the 80,000+ new chemicals introduced in the past 100 years had anything to do with it?
My knowledge of the subject is that it's still poorly understood. There's evidence of relationships and it would be wrong to discount these, but drawing strong inferences is premature.
But Gluckman does have research on his side. Where I think he's wrong is overstating the degree of early maturation. It isn't as large (.34 years in 30 years in the US) as he would imply.

I don't know about year to date, but day to date perhaps. This Enya - Die Antwoord work is somewhat mindwarping (lyrics particularly NSFW):

Yeah, Lynn Prentice who manages The Standard is involved. I was just holding out for someone to just front up and say so.
They create plenty of sticks with which to whack themselves, don't they?
It would be nice if they just operated openly and honestly sometimes.

Like many others, I'll watch the court case with interest. However I'm perfectly capable of making up my own mind what I think about the 'alarming clowns' without having to rely on what the courts say on the matter.
I generally stay out of this debate, because I know a few of those arrested. However I will say that I concur with Russell's opinions for the most part.

Has anyone read Roberto Bolaño? I've heard his 2666 described in very glowing terms, but I've yet to read it. As such, my review is along the lines of this one:
Roberto Bolaño’s 2666 is an obsessive and world-shifting epic. When I read it, I will be completely absorbed by it. It will be all I think about. It will affect my daily life in ways I can’t fully understand, and when I finish it I will have come to profound revelations about the nature of existence. I will finally understand all the literary theory I wrote essays on when I was at university.

I haven't mentioned Crystal Castles have I?

And for those who would rather, hot women with books (possibly NSFW, and includes images of books being damaged (Sorry Emma)).
Perhaps bringing this back on thread(s),most of those men are totally up for it, but most aren't really pulling it off, at least as far as clothes are concerned.

New Zealand's largest and most successful home- grown aid organisation had been destroyed: initially, by ideological extremism; and finally, by radical Maori nationalism.
Meths destroys both cognitive function and memory, it appears.

I have to say that being outside NZ it's become a lot harder to find outstanding new music. There's something to be said for turning on the radio and hearing something completely different, and gripes about staid presenters and formats aside, that's something the bNet does exceedingly well.

I don't know whether it stands up to the year, but it certainly stands up to a few listens... Ratatat's new song 'Drugs'. It does what it says it does.
