Oh gosh, I just remembered that I love that. I must acquire it!
You don't already have a copy?
Son, I am disappoint.
You'll be telling us next that you don't own a copy of I.O.U by Freeeze.

I don't think we're disagreeing, but to blame it on the loss of one helicopter is, I think, an inaccurate way of characterising it.

No-one seems to be arguing that keeping Goff will gain Labour more votes at the next election.
Therefore, the argument for not rolling Goff appears to rest at least partly on the assumption that rolling him would lose Labour votes at the next election.
So, would it? If so, why?

Wax Trax! was, not entirely uncoincidentally, a Chicago label...
Sorta like the dark mirror image of the nascent happy house scene.

it was rather strange that the loss of one helicopter caused such a furore.
Two, to be pedantic. The Battle of Mogadishu cost the US a total of 18 soldiers dead and 73 wounded over the course of around 36 hours. Which made it the bloodiest/costliest battle the US had fought since Vietnam.
Although it has been argued that it wasn't so much the loss of life as the fact that America woke up to TV pictures of the corpses of US soliders being dragged through the streets that caused the furore.

Was that you?
Yep, I was That Guy. Although possibly it wasn't so much the clothes as it was the headbanging, to music characterised by a series of repetitive beats.

Donna Summer and the Sex Pistols.
The irony is that producer and mentor of Ten City, Marshall Jefferson - one of the most important creators in the whole scene and vastly influential - personal tastes veer towards heavy metal and hard rock.
Well, as a teenage metalhead, I got into it all arse-backward - started listening to crazy industrial stuff - KMFDM, Einstürzende* Neubauten, Coil, etc (now there's some tunes that'll really get a party started and a smile on every dial), and realised that there wasn't really all that much difference conceptually between that stuff and the harder techno. Maintaining a hardcore tribal position after that seemed a bit daft. And here we are. Got some strange looks turning up to clubs and parties with long hair and in all my bogan gear, though.
*umlauts FTW!

put a phial of amyl under my nose
I had a very similar experience at a party once. Everyone was having a sniff, and then putting their heads up through the holes in a parachute hanging from the ceiling. So you got the visual effect of a softly billowing cloudscape populated by manically grinning and gurning disembodied heads.

Too populist, you say? Bite me, house hipsters.
Tell us, Christopher, what were the skies like when you were young?
The skies were wonderful – constantly changing thanks to that wind… and the sunset colours were indeed lovely, caught on the clouds, while in the winter chill the distant Tararua ranges were dusted with snow.
Edit: Ah, I see Mike already made that joke. Carry on....
