You know things are gonna be all right when there's a spontaneous haka.

i had to laugh at that. i thought the word should have been "obligatory" haka.

blimmin new zealanders haka at the drop of a hat.

i did one this very morning, when the guy at the cart got my expresso out in double-quick time.

it's anecdotal because there's no evidence to back up that particular myth of domestic violence after a game.

a myth constantly perpetuated by people who dislike the sport.

a proper analysis might provide evidence that a game loss isn't causal, but incidental to a situation in which domestic violence already exists.

like jeremy says, there's probably already violence and the excuse this time was the rugby.

was joking this morning about a fantasy scenario.

england v argentina in finals (not too unlikely)

    england win right? (grace forbid...)

then imagine the ditty, "one wee war and one world cup!!"

(and if it was our people in france, then straight to jail. that monet is exquisite.)

There's probably more teams in the show they've warred with than not..

actually, if you remove the pacific islands because they were ruled by the brits via us till recently, and australian and us because we were british till recently...

then the english have fought everyone

(oh, you'd have to count namibia as south african at the time, and georgia as russian, but you get the picture)

Che can back me up on this, I yelled out during the anthems "OMG! He's shaved his beard!"

i was dumbstruck with fear, and unable to reply.

my concern was illustrated later in the game, when hayman had a tiny trickle of claret from just above one eyebrow.

this proved he was no longer made of stone.

assuming the blood was his, of course.

Will we do to Carter and McCaw what we did to Carlos Spencer and Andrew Mehrtens?

PS. We did almost call this post "Lies Lies and damned stats". I've corrected the links. And i'm seriously concerned about France.

From not-so-sunny CHCH, over and out.

These are fascinating Hadyn -- Dropkicks drop-kick the MSM again! -- but irrelevant on a single count: they were not forged in the cauldron of real pressure test rugby

    but surely that's the point.

this much poor handling and other assorted bad stats were versus a bunch of minnows.

how will we handle the jandle versus a side that has out-statted us despite playing in the pool of death?
