  • Hard News: The standing-still sweep,

military training camp conspiracies have been around since the '80s.

are you suggesting there are still some tuhoe training from the old libya days?

actually... come to think of it... that isn't unlikely. time stands still up there.

  • Hard News: The standing-still sweep,

Posters here whose first instinct is to trash the police might just want to give some thought about what the consequences for NZ would be if a militia was allowed to set off an armed sectarian conflict.

    LMAO.

sigh.... thanks neil, best laugh in days...

"armed sectarian conflict". first you'd need, you know, some sides who were actually willing to fight.

what's that great quote from "lock stock and two smoking barrels"?

"i'm gunna need a couple of sawn-off shotguns"
"this is a bit heavy, this is London, not the Lebanon, whoodya think i am?"
"i think you're Nick the Greek"

just watched more of that video.

must have scared the piss out of the hippies living in that place. nice to hear bellbirds in the background though.

that karori sanctuary is really coming along.

  • Hard News: The standing-still sweep,

I wouldn't have expected actual firearms and stuff, but then again, maybe they decided to get serious with some non-vegans...

i know the place as well. you'd likely find a lot of smokers in there, but i'd very surprised if they were activity associated with any terrorists.

unless you call protesting against people who sell weapons terrorism. afaik these are the same guys who protest against national front.

this whole thing has a keystone cop stink about it, imho.

  • Hard News: The standing-still sweep,

It'll all unfold, but if they did realise "the level of violence involved" and just kept it to themselves, then they're complicit, aren't they?

i'd assume at least some of them are the source of the police's information.

and sometimes people keep shut just to avoid becoming targets.

Auckland can be a rather pedestrian unfriendly city.

    reckon.

having lived there i can say that auckland has a great roading system. you can go anywhere you need, and usually in a reasonably direct fashion (the airport being a highly notable exception)

the problem is too many people using it in one-person automobiles.

  • Hard News: The standing-still sweep,

That North Shore voters delivered Christine Rankin as their top-polling ARC candidate is a testament to the advantage of celebrity in municipal contests.

mind you, john and willie didn't make it, and celebrity was all they had.

and as for banks... not everyone has forgotten he's a bigot.

It's only a bloody hot drink you know!

yeah, but a man has to have his passions.

i like my violence kept in controlled, rule-bound conditions, and my coffee short.

How good does the coffee have to be before you'll haul out Kapa o Pango?

good point. might have to learn it.

if the crema is sweet, and the beans leave a faint aftertaste of chocolate, i just might have to improvise.
