What part of the statement are you stunned by, Rik? Have National broken promises in a fairly significant way? Why, yes they have. And do they appear to care about the hoi polloi? Well, no they don't. Not sure how that's outlandish. But each to their own.

A very beautiful one, where birds sing all day and fairies run the world. Oh, and dogs talk.

It all makes me so sad. Once again, we have a National Govt making everyone bloody miserable with their policies of slash and burn, and "never mind the promises we made, poor people, you can all get fucked" and do we have any viable chance of seeing a change of government? No we don't. I hope all the swing voters are enjoying their shiny new National Government. I would say it serves them right but we're all suffering.

One of these days, I will have to raid your itunes or whatever it is you use for your music. And I might let you have access to my more vanilla stuff.

I was never into the indie stuff either. I know it's sacrilege to say so these days, but the Dunedin Sound passed me by, and the Flying Nun stuff left me cold. So the advent of House was never a revelation to me as such, just a continuation from the disco music that I have always loved. I'm all about the dancing.

OMG. I would love that. Thankyou Russell. And to be fair, I don't think Early Elton is the only Elton. My love for his music does kind of stop after the Reg Strikes Back album was released in 88, though. I don't have any of his albums for after that period.

All of us have such very different tastes. And thank goodness. Although it would be fantastic if at least one of my acquaintances shared my love of early Elton.

How did you know I liked jazz, andin? And I'm not averse to a bit of acid jazz either.
