NZGT. Oh, I did enjoy it ... I thought it was well edited and ... yes... I love Tamati. Even Rachel Hunter was endearing. She's so beautiful and kind of natural. Bit dumb but it doesn't matter.
And the new Herald is a big improvement ... I cafe-tested it today.

Sorry Islander, I was too lazy to check my claim about the deciduousness of the kowhai. I now remember it is the fuchsia that is famous for it.
But the kowhai I have known well lost leaves before their spectacular spring display.. And maybe I'm half right:
"The beautiful, semi-deciduous, yellow-flowered kowhai is arguably the best known New Zealand tree. " From the Yates website ...

I like the seagulls caught mid-flight and mid-squawk.
I think kowhai are regarded as one of NZ's rare deciduous trees. They do look scrawny over the winter but I'm a great fan of their springtime display in streets and gardens and must-have accessories, the tui. -

I was shocked too after reading it on Twitter and then checking it online.
Was it a kind of Freudian slip? Did someone else really see that line before he spoke it?
