  • Random Play: My City In Ruins,

The main drag is becoming increasingly ugly.

The main drag is, mainly a drag.
Are you in that block of units adjacent to the railway tracks Graham? The one that has been under repair since about 18 months ago? I really hope for your sake not, they look pretty shoddy from my overlooking deck on the other side of the tracks (so to speak).
As I said in the pol08 thread, the people we elect to represent us very rarely do. They don't plan for the future they plan to get re-elected. The domain has always been super sweet and long may that continue. I was crawling along the southern carpark on the way home from work this avo and a crusty old derelict trundled past next to the motorway. No wonder people don't catch the trains, they look as if they may give out at any moment.
Can someone please explain why it is that here in enzud we always go for the cheapest shittiest nearsighted option?

  • Politics 08,

These polly's talk a good game but when it comes down to it thats all they do is talk. After seeing the stadium issue rear its fugly head again last night on 3, I am now certain that we are a banana republic in waiting. These guys don't plan to build a better nation, they plan to get themselves re-elected.

Yes there will be infighting galore, Winston will seek to feather his thorny nest further and John Key will keep making salient points and then proceed to miss them completely, but the AB's will probably win RWC and possibly save their collective asses. What sort of reflection is it on us as a nation that the success of a sporting team can save the regime in power?

A virtual slap for anyone who calls for Blackadder for P.M.

  • Southerly: The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth,

Those sound like some righteously simple but excellent ideas. I very much like the carlaw option, way too much politicking by rugby heads (of which I are one!) will probably see it die because "rugby union will not lower itself to play on a cross country wrestling ground, sniff" thats a pity. The canal would be a freakin brilliant introduction to NZ and Auckland. Imagine the tourists etc reaction to being introduced to the Hauraki gulfs inner reaches within 90 minutes of touching down, wicked.

Far too visionary, it'll never happen here, we're a banana republic in waiting don't you know?

  • Hard News: We're Blending again,

No I was wondering about the confirmation thing, I have recieved an email from some pr saying bring money, but nothing mentioned about printing anything to gain entry.
As far as translation nodes etc are concerned, I'd say that the central focus has to be conveyance of themes and ideas in terms that are easily digestible by joe and sharon lunchbox. It has to appeal to as many as possible to be taken on board, not just by digital natives and early adopters. Now as a disclaimer before the lefty hordes tell me that I'm a heinous racist for using the word native, the term evokes people of no specific ethnic origin who are indigenous to the digital age and its inherant technologies, so there.
