How awesome are my students? Midday, blue sky, hot sun, 30 degrees…
Those are my students in white… or the team with actual uniforms, in other words.
And the super high-tech scoreboard says 32:12 at half time. 64:36 at full time, and my students relaxed and had fun in the second half. One dude shot three 3-pointers in a row from exactly the same point on the circle after exactly the same manoeuvre. Almost embarrassing, but hey, I'm bloody proud of them.

Cool, thanks Russell.

Finally finding myself with a bit of spare time, I tried to watch He Toki Huna, but got a 403 - Access Denied when following the link from here, and I can't find it through a search of the Maori TV site.
But I did find a Te Reo edition of Journey to the West. But, ummm, somebody at Maori TV needs to brush up on their Chinese history....

Thanks, Chris. That wikipedia article gives a Chinese name 雪松/xuěsōng - "snow pine" - and the trees often have little name tags. I must go and check.
I was curious to read:
General cultivation is limited to areas with mild winters, with trees frequently killed by temperatures below about -25°C
So it'd cope with downtown/plains Beijing ok, but would struggle in the outer mountain regions of the west, northwest and north, and probably wouldn't grow terribly much further north than here.

And the morning’s adventures ended with the yummiest yoghurt in Beijing.
How yummy is this yoghurt? This yummy, and she’s only getting started in this shot – and she made such a gleeful mess that I’m sure next time we go there they’ll have a big sign saying “No Pakeha Toddlers” on the door.
ETA: Nearly forgot! Are there any Uighur/Xinjiang restaurants in NZ? Cos I think Uighur cuisine would be really popular in NZ - although certainly not for vegetarians. Oh, and lunch rocked to Uighur pop music, awesome beats.

Today’s fern today
Magic. At first glance it looked like an image from an electron microscope. Today's fern up closer than you lot can get with your puny cameras, perhaps.
