Hard News: The GCSB Bill: eleventh-hour arguments, in reply to
Dear sir
You have engaged one of my pet peeves in that letter. You write :The Speaker of the Parliament was apparently lied to by his own staff about the phone records of Andrea Vance. At the very least they were less than fulsome with the truth and eventually only found out via the persistence of Green Party Co-Leader Russel Norman.
However
ful•some (fo͝olˈsəm)
adj. Offensively flattering or insincere. See Synonyms at unctuous.
adj. Offensive to the taste or sensibilities.
adj. Usage Problem Copious or abundant.I expect a full report of your self-flagellation.
To be fair, you are far from the only journalist to misuse this word and many do it far more egregiously than you, but you did misuse it and there must be consequences.
Yours sincerely

therefore presumably have access to info useful to NZDF that NZDF doesn’t necessarily have the ability to intercept itself.
Defence Signals division might disagree with you there ;-) The inclusion of NZDF in the bill looks like covering all the bases to me.

Gower is a dick, always has been. Garner wasn't much better but if he hadn't moved on, Gower wouldn't be getting any airtime at all. I think he was more chortling about Wright because she's Cambell Live, which isn't "real news" doncha know. The internecine bullshit inside TV3 News is unbelievable but, as I don't work there, my knowledge is second-hand anecdata so you'll have to ask someone who does work there. Gower cares more about his "access" to top politicians than actually getting real information.

Was exactly the line MED officials took when justifying (Labour's) Copyright Amendment Bill. The terrorists are always winning, it seems.
Damn sneaky, these terrists.

Transcript here, if you’re a glutton for punishment.
Was anyone able to read that? The page said "Download PDF" but gave you a docx file which I haven't been able to either open or convert :'-(

Isn’t that rather like a 21st Century equivalent of the stocks, though?
It's more like exposing members of the KKK during a prayer meeting...

However, [citation needed].
Currently, it’s on Winnie’s Facebook page (interesting method of press release) but I see Stuff have picked it up now as has the Harold
EDIT: I see he said it in the House, during General Debate.

Those polls are taken of ~1000 people who use landlines (as they are only conducted on landlines). They generally have a margin of error of 3%-ish. They can be manipulated from here to buggery to give the customer the result desired. Look at the entity that commissioned the poll rather than the company that undertook it (unless it's Curia - then all bets are off).
