It was his elbow wasn't it?
Possibly, yes. I didn't want to watch to closely to figure it out.
I still feel a little ill thinking about it.
Then i don't recommend clicking that link in the post.

if they restricted their viewing of sports to Sports Cafe highlights of said Olympics
See the problem with that is that you would then have to watch SportsCafe which is - and I say this with the utmost respect for Jackie and the utmost disdain for Marc "__*&@!# Quax__" Ellis - misogynistic muntery crap.
And I've got a Waikato University study to back me up.

*&@!# Quax
I've said that on occasion myself

The rule is that freestylers must surface within 15 m of starting a lap and swim with part of their body above the water...
That's freestyle too? I thought that was one (or more) of the other strokes.
I think it's all strokes. And there's a rule about how many kicks and strokes you can do underwater at the turns. I think that's a big factor in Phelps' success is the "ground" he makes up underwater.

Post-swim interview was unsurpringly poor, though.
"So you didn't win. How did that make you feel?"

I was just watching Burmester pipped for a medal in a time of 1:54.35, a New Zealand and Commonwealth record on the TVNZ third stream
So can I assume that means American Gold and no medal for Aussie?

Che Tibby?...Che Tibby? Hmmm....
Ah yes I remember you! Tall fellow. Glasses. Uses long words. Where have you been my good man?

I really appreciate your sports blogs
Thanks!
do you play / participate in any sport yourself?
Interesting question. No I don't.
I find it fascinating that media agencies hire ex-sportsmen and women to be commentators, because very few of them are good. they may be able to notice subtleties of the game that we (mere mortals) can't, but often they can't articulate them.
The best example of Player-to-Commentator-FAIL is American Football great, Emmitt Smith.
if you don't play sport I don't see that preventing you from writing about sport
Whew! :)

From what I can tell the fireworks were real and were set off, but the camera footage was fake.
