Hard News: Judicial caprice is no way to…, in reply to
While what the prosecutor is effectively doing is deterring cannabis cultivators from reporting incidental crime.
No the police did that. They had the option of a warning, confiscation and destruction. But, by bringing charges, they are sending a message saying anyone doing anything outside the law better not ask for Police help lest they get nabbed.

Seems an appropriate time to re-visit The Clash’s take on music labels :

Why comment the code? It’s either obvious, or wrong.
There is an awful lot of code that is not obvious, and also code that appears wrong but isn't. Both of those cases benefit from comments.

Speaker: House prices and the "Magic Money", in reply to
why would anyone who doesn’t want to live here want to invest in an asset whose value grows slower than wages?
Exactly. If the value grows slower than wages, then it's not an asset for investing in, so people only buy houses to live in. Isn't this a good thing ?
We need to transition our economy from property as a favoured investment, to one where it is not so great. It needs to be done quickly so it doesn't keep exacerbating, but also slowly, so the bubble does not burst. It will not be easy, but the alternative is worse.

I think Deep Dream's fetish for dog faces, appears to be similar to the way we humans tend to conjure up human faces in anything remotely like two eyes.

That opinion piece reads equally well if you replace Ecstasy with RTDs and MDMA with alcohol.

I would like the threshold reduced to 2 (or perhaps 3) MPs (ie 1.5% to 2%), so that small parties can get going. At 5% (or even 4%) only extremely rich movements are going to be able to get going for long enough to build up this sort of support.
I would also like to see an alternative box on the ballot, so that if your primary party vote does not count because your party failed to meet the threshold (or whatever other reason), then your alternative one does. This allows you to vote for the party that most represents you, without "wasting" your vote by having it not actually contribute to the make up of partliament.

So two more constructive dismissal lawsuits on the way then ...

Not sure about the division between opposing directions, it needs to be clear but again can’t be anything you slip on or crash over.
A double white line ? Or double yellow if there is restricted visibility anywhere ?

The surface design is a chance to celebrate the route and make it stand out from the grey that surrounds it. Doesn’t have to mean flashy…. But that’s why we want the feedback
It'd be great for it to look good, but it is imperative that this does not come at the expense of functionality, literally and figuratively.
Pedestrian spaces along the edges, and two cycle lanes going each way, one marked slow, and one marked fast. Perhaps different surface colours to differentiate them.
