@Simon g: Gold.
Perhaps the new Auckland Supercity can celebrate its coming into being by hosting one these "One Shot for Glory" matches.

Forget Fallon (by the way, Rory, I'd thank L. Bertos before J. Christ), how good was Killen?!
Totally. On both counts. I wondered what Kevin made of the Jesus bit.
And Nelsen too. Not just as a player, but all that organising of the back 3.
Our friend Tommy Smythe, at HT in the IRe - Fra match, has just commented on what a great samve Mark Preston madel.
Looking forward to a rematch with you guys in 7 months GT.

I love the way that Herbert dropped the F-Bomb straight after the match. We don't get enough of that.
Great stuff. More than great sport, but great theatre.
Who cares we only played 3 matches at home, and the fact that a lot of better sides didn't make it.
That's the rules, and it just balances out the fact that our geographical isolation puts us at a massive disadvantage.
And, unlike 1982, we can really call this team ours.

Shit stirrer Hadyn. Not planning on an Xmas card from Iain O'B this year?
As for the Bahrani fans; apparently a bit of a todo at Farmers (yes, Farmers) on Thursday night. Club card only night.
No matter how much cash they waved around, the staff just weren't going to serve them.
As for the game itself; very hard to call because we don't play together enough, and we know next to nothing about Bahrain.
One thing for sure though; expect a bit of whining coming our way from the Northern Hemisphere

I’d have thought the purpose of sending a reporter to training would be to get an insight on likely team and formation.
And to be a pedant, it would have been more relevant for him to stand outside TVNZ office in Central Wellington to check on the colour of his fingers rather than 25k away.

Off topic a little, look at this on the All Whites build up
About 2:20 into it.
Watch the pushchair. Watch the pushchair

"Would be a far better use of everyone’s time than getting the accountant to dig ditches badly for 200 hours?"
If an accountant is digging ditches I'm sure they can charge people money to sit round watching in deck chairs, with a few beers and recoup the money owing pretty quickly.
So that proves it then; Community Service is all about punishment rather than actually doing the community any, um, service.
Garth McV would be proud.

I bet they don't issue fines to motorcyclists in Timaru.
-
If, say, an accountant racked up 200 hours of Community Service wouldn’t the most logical punishment be to get him or her to do that service sorting out accounts for various charities etc. (as long as the original crime wasn’t fraud)
Would be a far better use of everyone’s time than getting the accountant to dig ditches badly for 200 hours?
