How do I get an avatar round here? (no sheep please)
Try http://site.gravatar.com/, however it seems to be off air at the moment.
For the record I was still in Ireland in the early 80's, where only people who could get the BBC (and those other foreign channels) knew anything about sex and a chicken-flick was a special at the local KFC. "free movie ticket when you buy a bucket".

if it was kiddieporn and not bestiality that they watched last century ... would we all still be so willing to sweep this under the carpet?
NO
Bestiality's gross (much more so when it's used to degrade women, which doesn't seem to have been the case here)
Beastiality is indeed gross, irrespective of the gender of the participant, however given the timeframe and as it was a male in this case I felt I could make an attempt to be humorous about it.
zoophilia notwithstanding, if it was a sheep instead of a chicken, would the video have been a documentary.
-
I went and read today’s Dompost which quotes a source as saying "that one video showed a man copulating with a chicken."
This implies that here was more than "one" video, were the others all rugby games (any of them involving the French perchance, on the other hand lets not pursue that one.)
Back to the chicken, I can think of a number of options, the chicken was dead (necrophilia/bestiality), the chicken died during the making of the video (snuff/ bestiality), no chicken was harmed in the making of the video (bestiality) or it was a rubber chicken, in which case there must have been some politicians present, hence a cover up.

Perhaps Blair was using Northern Ireland as a template for Iraq? Have terrorists in your own back yard (or the threat thereof), show a bit of military steel in their own backyard and then force the situation into a healthy conversation. Just a thought...
To quote some body whose name I can’t remember, “All politics is local” so templates don’t usually work.
That Rosling presso is superb (although it has been around the net for about a year)

Blair may have "f####ked up" in a lot of areas most notably Iraq and the whole Bush/US relationship, however the sight of Ian Paisley and Martin McGuiness sitting at the same table is not something I thought I would see in my lifetime.
While many figures played important roles in the process, notably David Trimble, Bertie Ahern and Gerry Adams, I believe Blair’s commitment while PM kept the process alive and progressed it to this weeks formation of a “power sharing” government in Belfast.
That will be his legacy -
I recall Lenny Henry in his show doing a rave about a fanatical fan who followed him on tour and then complained/heckled that Henry repeated himself from show to show, he managed to spin the gag out for about 10 minutes

Why is he so keen to hit his kids?
maybe he likes it or then again he might have an addictive personality.
possible gap in the market for "no smacking patches" !
