Had Kerry believed that Ohio was rigged he would have done the same.
i seem to remember that, at the time, kerry favoured not fighting "for the good of the nation". a repeat of florida would have been too much of a fiasco.

"granny... it only takes one person to make a difference"
"how's that honey?"

no probably about it.

true. DPF is rational and is increasingly even handed. if all we had to go on was lunatics like whale oil or sir humphries...
i agree about reading opposing viewpoints and the like. but... i barely read pro-left sites these days. cynicism and politics-overload means my uptake of information is tightly governed.
i just don't have the time to upload spin of any flavour. i thought getting rid of tv would free up time, but i'm actually finding it harder to make time these days than when i watched two or three hours a night!!
but to return to the point. we'll have to wait and see if DPF keeps up the rationality around election time. my money is on "not".

he's still head and shoulders above any other right-wing NZ politics site
i believe that is called "damning with faint praise"

Try just reading DPFs entries without clicking into the threads
have tried it. makes me want to hurt small animals.
although, i haven't read him for about 6 months. maybe the level of commentary has lifted.

i'm in a meeting discussing the use of blogs to capture and disseminate information within public sector agencies.
we start discussing the pitfalls of blogs, and means to make them work effectively (and not be time-traps or underutilised). in response to the question of "social behaviour" in and around blogs i state, "look, no one here is interested in our site becoming a kiwiblog".
cue: entire room laughing.

in deed. someone pointed out to me last night that laqc are particularly useful if you're planting forests, for example.
i still want to "write a letter" about subsidisation of housing thru taxation tho.
makes me a little annoyed.
