Damian,
Funnily enough as far as I understand the whole security industry is under review at the moment in parliament . The unite union want to clean the industry up. I worked security at Eden Park recently. As far as I understand the drunken league fiasco has made the whole security industry toughen up on the possibility of crowds going out of control.
But you were assaulted, that's very illegal and well beyond the scope of a security guard under current legislation.

(The idea of stopping talking doesn't seem to have occured to Jeremy)
Dude, clarification is important sometimes. I've seen you do it;)

I don't read every thread sacha.
The point I am trying to point out is I haven't said anything about stereotypes. I respect the Women on this thread and they make great points and every point they made was right.
This is the third time I've pointed this out. -
I think, at this point, I will just link to this.
That's an upsetting reality.I agree.
-
You really should get out of the house more, if you believe that.
I will.I'm not here to wind you up so sorry.
I agree with everything Danielle said. I'm not saying you don't have a right to your views and I have no stereotype for a womans role. I guess I do see the worlds solutions as primarily political ones.

No, i believe I was commenting as a free citizen on media i have read and the stereotyping has been written by others.
I aint gonna stereotype anyone, ...but i will challenge views. As I see it, your point seems to be based on this weird thing that a rightwing woman isn't actually doing the feminist cause any good,
Well that idea is not mine. It's been introduced to me by the views of woman I've met and read. It doesn't seem that weird.
-
You didn't just... tell a woman to 'calm down'... in a discussion about feminism, did you?
Heh.
No, I told her to calm down on a discussion about me.:)

Chairman Mao walked around China starving, admirable in his devotion to the cause. Still, Mao...the admiration isn't deep.
-
I would also point out, that as a woman, political and media role models are few and far between. We takes what we can gets.
I mean please calm down, I've never said I'm opposing their (rightwing female media, not all woman), right to those views, i'm opposing those views. I've never said that and you keep banging on like I have, c'mon.
fundamental courtesy
Craig, Fundamental courtsey, I've got more manners than you have books, everone has more manners than you.

but Thatcher was regarded with disdain by the male Tory establishment
She caused polarity where ever she went.
and she's one woman.
Plenty others never saw the equality she created for herself, thanks to her individualistic societyI guess its hard for me to comment on the tories back then because I regard her with disdain too. I'll try and read her story one day, I just think she is a sideshow to discussion of gender equality and her path to the top is hardly an inspirational story .
