  • Hard News: Reputation and remuneration,

An investigation has been ordered after an aged-care worker took a dementia patient to SkyCity Casino - and lost her.

I can just imagine her sliding the poor woman across the Blackjack table, is this jonkey's answer to Aged care?.
As for johnbanks, he took a gamble and lost, you get that at the "High Rollers" table.

As with all "Once in a Lifetime" things, when it's done there will be "Oh, why didn't we do that... moments.
I thought it could have been fun to rig up an inverter and car battery so the lights could be on and the stereo blaring. And what a topping wheeze to have a dinner party in the moving house.

Apropos to anything, we found this the other day. Neither of us has a clue where it came from, apart from Auckland Library that is, apparently it was Withdrawn. Somebody, at some point has affixed typewritten labels to make it read “Quiet and Withdrawn, doesn’t play well with others", possibly an “R. Brown” in 1997.

You find strange things when you upset the balance of the universe by moving things.
Stranger still, by random chance, the Image number is Image (666).jpg.
    Wooooo

in the US a-learnin’ ’bout proper politics for a coupla weeks…

Private Secretary to Speaker Lockwood Smith, Amelia Abplanalp says...

"It will be really neat for the MPs and parliamentarians that are going to actually get an experience of American politics firsthand. That's always an experience they can bring back and use to contribute in our parliament."

    Hmmm... can't wait.

constantly wittering on about anything similar (or not) that Labour may have ever done in office,

This is a point I have been trying to make for months and I just get told that Labour are being ineffective as an opposition. The fact is that National are acting as if they are the opposition and there is only room for one. National's tactics are sly and disingenuous, they are dangerous and careless.
