DPF, much as I disagree with him on most things, makes the valid point on Facebook that it's pretty outrageous to do this while Cullen's still an MP on the Opposition benches. Isn't being an MP a disqualifier from holding such offices? If it's not, it really ought to be.
But he won't be an MP when he takes up the posts.
And besides, reading the Kiwiblog regulars' anguished howls of betrayal is priceless .

We saw various traders' trucks in Point Chevalier at 10am on Sunday morning, collecting anything metallic.
Yeah, we saw the same thing.
As a sometime greenie I would have found it encouraging if the broader ramifications weren't so freaking scary.
Yep. Like I said, it was different this time.

BTW Kevin has beaten John to it
Except he's gone for the plan National rejected: a single monolithic PPP. These things always seem easier in Australia.

On the Nats, did anyone catch Katherine Ryan's interview with Anne Tolley about the new school assessment regime. Apparently, Tolley has no idea what data the MOE need, or what they are going to do with it once they get the (as yet unspecified) data. She's going to consult and see what everyone else thinks because she has no clue herself. And they passed this under urgency!
I heard it, and I thought the same thing you did. Tolley didn't seem to know anything .

Hats off. If you're going to take acid anywhere ...
Looks like it'd be awesome.

The story: We detoured via Pandy (close by Offa's Dyke on the Welsh border on a trip to Port Merrion in 2004)
Lovely part of the country. As a young man, I spent a day at Portmeirion on LSD. Although I suppose that was more surrealist than post-modernist.

In the absence of a better place for it, and given the disjointed nature of the opening post, a study of online sexual predators has shot down a bunch of myths
That's really fascinating. And that's just the article. I'll read the report tonight if I get time, but the Ars analysis is nice. Thanks.

Vettori's bowling average last dipped under 30 in his sixth test match, back in 1997. I think what this indicates is that he's a bowler who has never really delivered on his reputation or early promise, statistically speaking.
Funny thing is, way back, people used to say he wasn't a one-day bowler, and there's no doubting his record there ...

I gave you nothing less than a Stanley Link fish. Kindly avail yourself of it.
Ooh. That was nice. Thank you.
