Is that a type of orchid?
It's a climber/vine. Phaseolus caracalla. Pea family? I only became aware of it last summer, it has intensely sweet perfume.

been trying to get a bee in flight in serious close up, but gee it’s hard.
It is so hard that only flukiness works. I think it helped that there was a huge bunch of bees doing a flash-mob on the rosemary nearby so there was a lot of coming and going.
Back on the wasps, I have to be careful when poking the camera into the patch of zinnias when I can’t really see what I’m doing. The wasps are quite busy in there too.
And that last pic I think is the cream of the crop, I'll call it quits on the monarch pics now - unless there is a swarm (more than 3) out there on the zinnias....

Grand Fireworks Finale
Like 'em Ben : ) Did they not have any going off over Albert Park? They sounded pretty impressive, with a nice percussive burst at the end. I reckon shaky firework pics are more interesting than nice crisp ones...

I doubt the rock band named is the best Beijing has to offer
Hard to judge from here, they were quite (light) rocky though...
