"earthquake-prone" buildings
I see that designation around Wellington a bit and it always tickles my pendant bone: surely it's not the building that is earthquake prone, it's the city. The building might be liable to collapse in an earthquake, but that's not the same thing.

My mother had the same demijohn under the sink for what must have been twenty years, and it never got changed once. Maybe she figured that in a disaster we'd need a source of antibiotics.

They won't let me donate in NZ on account of the fact that I have a very bening heart murmur, whereas in Italy it was never an issue. I'm just waiting for them to lower their standards basically... The next disaster could do it.
