And that's what we wanna know too.
Texas ain't even on the Mason Dixon. But there's no denying an education in Pynchon is the best possible preparation for where you're at, dude. 'Cos you already must know: America's strange, and it's gonna get a heap weirder. Like, way weirder than Leonard Wilcox on hot afternoon in A3... -
Corben Simpson and Geoff Murphy had come to APRA to request a change to the writing credit on Blerta's 'Dance All Around the World', which still earns rights money. In the middle of the song, there is a poem by Margaret Mahy.
It's a little more than that. There's hardly a line in the song that isn't lifted directly from MM's picturebook "The Procession." But hey, that was almost the 60s, and noone really cared.
Nice gesture though. -
We're on the second series now...
Yeah, I can accept no Weeds for a week, but I'm not about to enjoy the Warriors letting through quite so many softish points...
And someone shld tell Prime their Weeds site is "owned by zanguda" - or is that how it's meant to be? -
Wondering why I was watching the Warriors get another thumping, checked the Prime website: yep, Weeds is bumped. More- it looks- as of this moment, at any rate- as if Prime's Weeds website has been hacked.

Thanks 3410. You get the spelling and "had teh courtesy to look it up" prizes.

Another vote for Mary Wilson. She does have some annoying ticks, but she's usually sharp and incisive.
And I think TVNZ also ran the Hilton story in the first break (from T(can't spell it!) Tiffen) in their 10:30 bulletin. And it was just as stupid on TVNZ, for what it's worth- (they took much the same angle).
What does it mean that a big sector of our young adults think PH is teh beez kneez? -
And they scoffed and ridiculed Michael Moore's Bowling for Colombine angle: American's live in fear engendered by media and "authorities"?
Fear is not to be scoffed at.
Until it becomes this stupid (and self-important).
At least the hash people are likely to have access to good lawyers. If they'd been Dr Hassan and his wife Fatima they'd be in locked away for life without the hint of a habeus corpus. -
Labour are trying to "frame" Key as someone who is fluid on the facts... They don't believe the SFO stuff, it's the "sez this now, said that before" business that they're after. Anything at all that even might feed into this storyline is going to be brought up. And the electorate residency is a sniff of the genuine stuff. They've had some good material to work with: if they've got more, it'll come out for sure, drip by drip.
Unless they find a better storyline.
Sadly for Labour, Hodgeson is not particularly good at muck-raking and gutter stuff: he doesn't sound like he really believes it. But with Trev out of action, he's simply had to front up. -
Competely OT: isn't it weird how Oz seems to zag left just as NZ zigs right? It's early and the "grand dilemma" for National- who, what upstarts or rabble-rousers or marginal has-beens to share power with!- is still unresolved.
But the Nats here have the4 same sort of lead in the polls that Labour has in Oz, and we seem to have been on opposite oscilations for about 20 years. -
Can people please stop posting illogical statements like:
shouting that it is objectionable and wrong to transport Australian troops to Kuwait. Inferring that the Australian troops are objectionable material that must be kept off of our planes
Please.
the govt may have moral issues about profiting from the iraq war. they are certainly trying to play NZ's lack of involvement for political advantage, and this has been used to attack them on such a stance: it's doubtless a poltical game.
but if you "infer" anything about labour's attitude to australia's sovereignty, troops, right to conduct it's own foreign policy, etc, you've kicked off the shackles of logic to howl at the moon.
imho ;-)
