we could expect to see it turn up in anti-virus packages.
Anti-virus morphing into copyright enforcement, hmmm. It could also be blocked by internet filters like the great firewalls of Aussie and China.

As someone who has never, ever clicked through an ad or bought anything that's internet advertised, I actually think I'm doing the advertising industry a favour by running an ad-blocker. I'm saving them from paying nanocents of bandwidth costs for zero return.
I'm thinking that Megakey will be easily ad-blocked itself. After all (unless one uses iOS) the browser is under the user's control.

Without trying to untangle the legal side, there are very good reasons to suppress identity in Teachers Council proceedings:
- the identity of minors are almost always suppressed in all proceedings. Most cases before the Teachers Council will involve minors, and their identity is likely to be revealed to some degree by any reporting of the teachers name
- initial disciplinary matters between an employer and employee are always confidential. Since the Teachers Council process has elements of this (a teacher who breaches any aspect of professional standards will appear before the council, whereas in other professions they may be given a warning by their employer) confidentiality is appropriate.
- knowledge that a teacher has been before the council will have a negative impact on their relationship with future students, potentially damaging their education
Maybe they need to amend the legislation to provide for an assumption of identity suppression in a more constitutionally acceptable fashion.

Hovercraft might be a solution. Need a beach or ramp at both ends of the journey, though.

a perfect crash record
Wow. I'm sure if you had bus drivers like the ones in the capital that might change - Go Wellington apparently has a "10 strikes" policy for its drivers.
(On the plus side, they're all very nice, but they do tend to run into stuff a lot. I think the new buses are slightly narrower to try and reduce this).

Actually, if you Aucklanders feel it'll make life better turning the city into (more of) a mini-LA, go right ahead.
If you could use up all the highway funds so they can't build the Basin Reserve flyover/tunnel scheme in Wellington, that'd be great. According to the National Party / Dom Post it's essential because of the terrible congestion at the Basin roundabout. I travel that way several times a week, and have never waited longer than a traffic light cycle. But on Planet Fairfax/Key, it's tailed back to the moon.
(They've already started on a cut-and-cover tunnel on Buckle Street so the ghosts of dead soldiers can cross the road more easily, or something).

a rational (?) project that will increase network capacity
Enabling people to buy houses the other side of Albany and drive to wherever they are working, causing traffic levels to increase again until we're back to stopped. (or gas prices go through $5 a litre and they can't afford to drive to work any more).
The UK's M25 has grown from six lanes when it opened in 1986 to have up to twelve today, with plans for even more. It still jams solid.

In the days when CD writing was a thing, you could get bulk CD burners that took a big stack of blank CDs.
I wonder if one of those could be adapted to take a big stack of music CDs and rip them automatically.

the President has four wives, for example
Is that a constitutional requirement, or he just does?

Clint Rickards was admitted as a lawyer. If he can get in, anyone can, surely.
Is he still practising?
