You really don’t get MMP, do you?

Yes I do, an electorate vote is still an electorate vote.

Also, the Conservatives didn’t take Rodney.

Well they should have. They should have taken Rodney and dumped him in a trashcan and set fire to him.
You were talking Hide there weren't you?.

they are NOT protesting, they are voting for what they believe.

So, they believe that the Greens shouls stay in the political wilderness then because, sure as hell, National will only fuck them over, as they will for the rest of us.
    Thanks again.

  • Hard News: Democracy Night,

Well I would like to thank all the lame arsed tossers who thought their little protest vote against Labour, by voting for a Green candidate who never had a chance of winning the seat, was the height of political intellect, thank you very much for allowing this conniving wunch of bankers to, once again, hold the reigns of treasury.
You have single handedly thrown our assets to the dogs.
I hope you all choke on the babies you intend to eat for lunch.
    GRRRRRR.

no-one pointed out that the tragedy at Pike River seems to have been created in a toxic brew of the things the Nats love most – light regulation; cost-cutting in the public service and relying on privatisation and the profit motive to drive efficiency

Like I have said many times, these people are dangerous.
    Already voted...
    Electorate,Labour, Phil Goff.
Party, Mana, because I think the Greens have opened themselves up to the possibility of backing National on confidence and supply, however much they say it would be "highly unlikely", it's like saying "it's highly unlikely I would shag my Mum"

Nonsense. My way or the highway huh?

Not at all, if you want your vote to be a protest vote against National not Labour. I would vote for a stinking pile of poo if it would get rid of National, they are Cuthullull's little helpers.

There is simply no way I can vote Labour. It’s the last three years AWOL as opposition and their support for too much illiberal legislation in that time and before.

Here lies the problem. Your little protest could mean we get National again. And your argument? that they didn't do what you wanted whilst in opposition. Well, let me remind you that National are so fucking arrogant that the opposition is as good as hogtied, neutered, ignored. A vote against Labour is as good as a vote for National and these people are dangerous.
Give the bastards an inch and they will eat your children.

Am I being an idiot, or is it the Herald that's wrong?

    The Herald is constantly wrong.
Labour will win on Saturday by a large margin. The people of New Zealand will wake from their collective slumber and realise that johnkey and pals are a bunch of rip off merchants and vote for the only real alternative, Labour.
johnkey will run off and go live in Hawaii and the rest of them will go off to Australia because "it's better" and they failed to make NZ a smaller copy of Aus.
Come Sunday the sun will shine, the birdies will chirrup and the bees will be buzzing around with joyful smiles as they sup the sweet nectar of a Labour victory.
If and it is highly unlikely considering the shit they intend to dump on us all, johnkey and pals rule the day it will be because the system has been rorted by the filthy few and we will have to have a revolution. In which case, I will see you at the barricades brothers and sisters.

  • Hard News: A week being a long time in politics, in reply to Kyle Matthews,

I wouldn't mind some selling of our energy assets if there was some sort of national interest or business sense behind it. I find it strange that we own several energy companies - surely we should own one larger one,

And then you go and spoil it all by saying something like "and have two or three private ones for competition." thus repeating the failed mantra that the private sector and the magic beans of "competition" will make power companies "efficient". It has been proven that this is, demonstrably, not true in the slightest. You cannot take money out of a system, as "profit" and still have that system run at maximum efficiency, you know, thermodynamics an' all that.
