Not just a Lulz, but genuinely laughed out loud, particularly at "He was behind the couch". Great line!

Why is it that sports reporters are almost universally[1] complete f-ing idiots?
[1] Or maybe it's just NZ?

IMO Vodafone deserve the scorn they're getting for their mobile data plans (it's not just the iPhone plans)

On a quick browse through the report, it seems pretty cynical. For example, "stimulants" includes Methamphetamine AND Ecstasy, and nowhere are harm figures broken down between the two.

I'm pretty much on strike with the iTunes Store unless it's iTunes Plus
Abso-fricken-lutely. And why doesn't the itunes store have a preference to ONLY show Plus content?

Various studies report different numbers, but the general trend is consistent: trucking pays less of the wear and tear on its infrastructure than rail does. Adjust charging regimes to balance these and long-distance freight will migrate to rail.

Off topic (and I'm happy to discuss it further elsewhere) but:
It may end up with TVNZ buying the gear and hiring it out at affordable rates.
Sorry, not a snowball's chance in hell. That's so far from how TVNZ does things that I'd fall off my chair if it came to pass.
And it doesn't have to be expensive if you choose not to worship at the Throne of Sony. For one example see http://www.red.com - Rocket have 1, Rubber Monkey have 2. A significant part of that HD story was authored by Panavision, who certainly don't have any complaints about the status quo.

I'll think you'll find i was shocked at his doing it in public [...] And come 2011, I want us to ram their words back down their supercillious throats.
I can't stand a lot of the boff head male culture that come with it.
I rest my case. God is an Iron.

For some lightweight doco about the national anthem a couple of years ago, Chris Knox penned a new one with refreshingly simple lyrics and in both English and Te Reo. Very upbeat and cheerful, it'd stand out nicely amongst the typical dirges.
Oh, and as a Pratchett fan, can I just say I now laugh out loud every time I hear the Aussies tell us their home is "girt by sea!". :)

While we're still (just) in post-mortem mode - can someone tell the F-ing IRB in the future [1] to ensure that they sell host broadcaster rights to a network who actually has one or two directors who know how to shoot Rugby? Instead of the glut of f-ing soccer directors we've been getting in France?
If you felt like you couldn't really see what was happening in the game, blame the directors. Their wide shots were too wide (and held too long), and their closer midshot was too close. Great framing for a soccer match, miserable framing for rugby.
[1] Won't be an issue for 2011, obviously. Just watch any NZ rugby broadcast for a stark comparison.
