Diamond Sea! Man, I *loved the crap* out of that track for about a year after the album was released. It kept mesmerizing me. I still love it to pieces but it was almost supernatural at the beginning.

Heh. Fair enough. I saved my drinking until after the basketball. (Tho' I followed my friends into Chicago for initial post-game drinks. That place is worse now than it was ten years ago, and it was bad ten years ago.)

I was at the QWEC for that Pulse game too. *sigh*
Much more fun was the Saints game there the night before. I understand basketball isn't your favourite flavour, but that was a hell of a good time. Bonus: Wellington ended up winning.

Except that was a fake christopher walken!
I just got double stuffed! -
Curse you mr christie. I just signed up to twitter thanks to this. It was your warning that I would one day be "mrg.an177775" if I didn't act now that did it.
I mean, i have an account on Hoffspace. i don't have any credibility left to lose.
Also, I now get to follow Christopher Walken.

Show-off :-)
(Of course, if we're talking geek envy, there's the charming Andrew S., late of the Cuba Mall comics shop, now working at Gosh Comics at London where Alan Moore and other such luminaries signed his birthday card...)
Interesting to see you namecheck Nexus given your post last Thursday - Mike Baron has of course shown his face on Big Hollywood recently. I've just recently picked up the original Nexus colour 1-6 and find that whole series still holds up well. But Mike Baron's other longform work, Badger, was less fun and by the fifth storyline about how liberals are wrong about everything I became quite disenchanted...

Heya - thanks for the linky love, Russell.
@Tom Semmens - your concerns aren't stupid, and I sure don't pretend to have any special knowledge. And the review has to happen - Nats have signed up to it.
What we're hoping people ask for in their letters is that Key is pretty ruthless as he negotiates the terms of reference for the committee. There's plenty of room to move there, and every rubbish item that gets stripped out saves us a bunch of time.
@Paul Williams - those questions have puzzled me too. Maybe Rodney is just a true believer, and that's all there is to it?
Finally, to linkwhore just a wee bit more, Don't Be A Rodney also lives on the dreaded Facebook...

This thread is getting very long.

Whoa - is there an unexpected cameo in the Billy T bit with Howard Morrison? Or am I crazy?

[Hmm, in my head, "Oh, Russell" was kinda head-shaking cynical admiration, but on the screen it looks like breathless adoration. Believe me, my adoration is entirely breathful.]
