There are ways around that – from trying to find a better-fitting condom (not easy) to discussing other things to do in bed and choosing monogamous relationships – but it’s not a non-issue. It should be okay to talk about.
I'm not sure anyone is saying it isn't OK to talk about. But, this is something I hold pretty dearly, because, I'm the one who is going to end up pregnant. Frankly, anyone who said to me, "Oh, I can't use a condom, because of X....isn't going to get very far with me. In fact, the one time someone tried it, I threw him out of my house. But I was in my late 20s, not 16.
I recognise that it makes sex for some men more difficult - though, I'd point out, no men I've ever been with - but protecting your partner, and yourself, is basic respect. It might not be ideal, but as Lucy points out, it's the best we've got.Back to the sexy referencing: it turns out that, you’d never have guessed, but people do research on this stuff, and ask people questions about why they don’t use condoms.
Oh, You. Stop it! (Don't really.)

And do you mislead about how ovulation works so that it looks as though women are fertile more of the time, or do you just hope that kids don’t put the picture together?
Dude, I am 33, have been menstruating since I was 15, and my periods are still incredibly irregular. I have a shit show of knowing when I am ovulating. I'd rather no kid got taught 'don't worry, 25/31 days, you can't knock her up'. That's pretty dangerous roulette to be playing.
Or do you just prevaricate and change the subject, because this is all too advanced?
Who is advocating that? Aren't we asking for as much information to be given as possible?

Um, so to speak.

Randy isn’t the worst of it. Plenty of folk out there called Fanny or Dick. Or Roger. Or Willy.
Do you think the slang terms are in some way derived from the names? Or just etymological coincidence?
So, in the case of 'a good rogering', we think there might have been a particularly...prolific Roger?

That’s not the word that comes after “people think we’re”, darling, and you know it.
I was trying to be circumspect. It's my new thing.

Oh, lordy. Emma? Can we get Lucy a pony too please?
As soon as I’m finished. We’re going to think about the bibliographing for a bit first. Oh yeah.
Is this why people think we're weird?

I can also….bibliograph.
Oh, lordy. Emma? Can we get Lucy a pony too please?
It's funny though. I can count on my hands the number of times I have had unprotected sex outside of a long-term relationship. And it has almost always been when I was too...drunk... to care. Maybe I am especially conservative, (hah) or untrusting.

You know what’s sexy? References. References are sexy. Let’s have some.
You're right. That was incredibly sexy. Bringing the knowledge.

Or maybe the Herald has decided that a bit of parody is in order?
Hopefully, because that column is practically unintelligible. From it:
Ideally there should be an opt-in clause for children at school as opposed to an opt-out clause.
Like there is for religious education in many schools, right?

There is also the flawed and dangerous ideology that showing teenagers how to have sex will reduce their desire to want sex - just writing that sentence makes me laugh out loud.
And just reading it makes me laugh out loud, Bob. Jesus. Have you ever _met_ a teenager? They want to have sex. They should, it's nice. And we should be giving them as much information as we reasonably can.
I wish I had the time that article really deserves.
