For as long as I've worked at TVNZ I've loved having access to the Television Archive.
If it's not telling tales out of school, when my Dad died, my brother happened to have been going out with someone who worked at TVNZ. She was able to access all the televisual stuff on Dad, over the years, which she then made into a DVD for his funeral. It meant the world to us. What a marvellous resource.

Most of the time, I love you guys. But sometimes, just sometimes, you're enough to bring on a headache of epic proportions, as the brain tries to comprehend words I've never heard of, and OS's I wouldn't be brave enough to try. Let alone install. We have a guy for that.

Thanks for the update, Karl. And Sofie is right. She knows about these things. Get some rest - when you are a support person, you need to be on your toes, which is a little hard when you keep dozing off! Big hugs to you.

I removed voicemail from my phone service ages ago. And we don't have an answerphone either. I figure that there are thousands of ways for people to stay in touch - remove one, and what difference does it make?

You know Emma, and I know, that you hate the gushy thing. But I'm going to, anyway. Darling, darling girl - all the bestest of the best for this chapter in the amazing adventure that is your life. It's a shit of a thing, an absolute, if I may be bold as to use the word in a context that may be inappropriate but for which I can find no other more gender friendly word, cunt of a thing. I hope Adric comes quietly, and realises that his host is not one to take too much shit. And be assured that there is much love for you, from quarters you may not have expected. I'll second you on the UK thing, weaver. All the years I spent there in my early twenties, I was pretty appalled at how sexist men were, and how very forward and sexually explicit they were in their comments to/about women. As a barmaid, I got my fair share of this sort of attention. Did I say fair share? I meant to say, the harrassment was constant. One very busy lunchtime, I was going around the tiny pub I worked in, collecting pint glasses. Both hands were full. I had on a skirt, and this guy put his hand right up there. Now, I didn't used to wear knickers much in those days, and I really didn't want my vagina ambushed like that. So I cracked my load of glasses over his head. Result. I often found that it took drastic action like that to get rid of the filthy bastards. And afterwards, I was always called a dyke. Of course.
