isn’t it just a negiotiating position to get revenue-sharing arrangements

Well, I believe something has to be done and not just for the lost revenue of the All Blacks (am I allowed to use that term, All Blacks, or will I find myself in court?)
Here's a little story. I was in the Grey Lynn RSA a few weeks back and an old Samoan lady walked in and shuffled up to the bar, sha asked "Who do I give tis money to for Manu Samoa?"
she handed the barman a $50 note.
Others in the bar knew a bit more of the story.
She wasn't wealthy, she had a large family and she wanted to help her Nations team in the Word Cup and the RSA was collecting donations, they raised several thousand I think, maybe less.
Anyway, the point is that all the money, and more, that was raised for the team has now been snatched by the IRB as a fine for a player wearing a mouthguard with some unauthorised words on it.
Can't we just dump the greedy imbeciles and form a new international association?.

I seem to remember a speedboat went missing from the waterskiing club,

More than likely an Act on Campus member taking "Their" property back.
    ;-)

This is typical of Actoids and the Right in general. They get themselves into Parliament by fair means or foul, getting their mates, National, to throw the race in Epsom I would regard as foul and then proceed to tell us we need less Government. Whilst sucking up greater and greater amounts of public money on salaries and expenses they go about screwing the tax base so as to reduce their input into the public purse.
So, hey, here's an idea Actoids. If you don't like big government with the ability to care for the less fortunate members of society, if you don't like having to put your hand in your pocket for something that may not be of personal advantage to you and your ilk, go live in Somalia.

  • OnPoint: Transcription of new Rick Perry…, in reply to James Bremner,

Steve,No doubt the US has some very real and serious problems that it needs to face, the biggest of which is out of control Govt spending driving trillion dollar plus deficits and debt accumulation as far as the eye can see.

So you want to live in a bankrupt country? I don't get it. Where does this delusion come from that you don't want the wealthy to pay their share because that will allow you to be rich?.
The biggest problem the American Govt. has is the fact that it can't afford to pay for what Americans need because Americans would rather have a Jet Ski than good health care for their sick and elderly, would rather coddle the rich than help their neighbour.
Spoilt brats if you ask me.

So, in the case of ‘a good rogering’, we think there might have been a particularly…prolific Roger?

So you would think a good smutty stage name would be Roger Moore weird thing is, it's his real name.

Public Address reader Jen Lander reported on the night that 15 police officers unexpectedly lined up, “high vis vests, very staunch” and shut it down:

Well, isn't that what they do?
Pike River rescue operation, shut it down.
Christchurch City recovery effort, shut it down.
Traffic on road, shut it down.
Successful Pot growing operation, shut it down.
People not drinking enough but still having fun, shut it down.
Brewery organising piss up and blocking transport routes, ignore.
For everything else, set up a camera.

One thing that mystified me is the excitement the crowd gets at the Mexican trumpets before every kick-off, and the noticeable number of people dressed as banditos. I can only guess that they are real fans of the Mexican wave,

First time I heard those trumpets I felt quite happy to have a sound that seemed at least a little celebratory. But when I saw the crowd begin to undulate in that inimitable Mexican wavery, I held my breath, expecting to see massed Policemen march onto the pitch and halt the game until all that tomfoolery was put a stop to. This would have taken some time as the cop in charge would have had to go off somewhere to learn the basics of crowd control or something. The breakdown of discipline could have got out of hand, don't you know? and who knows where that could have led, before you know it we could have Bagpipes or some other abomination.
