Hard News: The Golden Mile, in reply to
A station at Aotea Square will do wonders for local retail, methinks.
Let's hope it would work better than the seriously depressing square that's attached to the Newmarket Station.

If Cr Brewer had his way, Queen St would probably look like just another cut-and-paste shopping mall minus the roofing. I’d have Cuba Street over that any day.
Well quite, but Queen St has nothing in common with Cuba St. I just see a Queen St full of souvenir-shops. There are interesting areas coming up around Queen Street; like Elliot Stables, High St, Britomart and Fort St, but Queen Street itself is mostly junk.

We’re all still posting music we hate, right? Right?

From reading this story I'm guessing that were Kate Winslet to post in this thread she'd pick this song as her poison:
I'm with Kate on this.

Back in 83 I’m pretty sure I hated Hall & Oates and this song:
But then, seeing this cover, it made me think about how it’s possible to recognise a great song, removed from its initial performance. Plus, substituting a saxophone for a kazoo must alway be a win, surely.

Worst vocal performance, and most over-rated band of all time
Back in the day, my 16 year old self would have introduced you to my Doc Martens for saying that.

Talking of earworms, Nothing Compares 2 U was mine the other day - totally out of the blue.
Weird, I found myself humming a song the other day that I had no idea where it came from. The supermarket or the service station maybe. In the end I had to look up who did actually sing it. To my horror it was this song by Cat Stevens.
I'm not a fan.

Pretty much all the bands that came out of England in the nineties. Oasis, Coldplay, Radiohead. Actually, I didn't even hate them, they were just a giant MEH. It still grated because I was constantly being told how awesome they were.

Reggae
You're banned.
Dude, that's just hurtful.
I'll admit that my dislike of reggae hails back to my younger and more intolerant days. These days I actually like some of the older and more raw sounds from Jamaica.
However, UB40 will always make me want to drill out my ears.

Reggae.
Sorry, but I just can’t stand it. And no, I won’t be linking ;-)
