Others who have been accused of promoting such an act have had the might of the State come down upon them...
Have they? Or was it because they were found in possession of, you know, weapons?

Yes - that was going to be my next question. Do we know it's the Aussie national censoring filter and not the airport's?
-
Victoria University has a filter that will block out sites with extreme political views. I have seen this in action. And yes, it's a university, not an airport. Also, as you'd expect, these sites aren't censored by humans, they let a very hit-and-miss algorithm do their bidding.

That's why listener.co.nz is one of my patented "Websites I loathe".

Funfact: setting up a website is not really an impenetrable web of deception by a reasonable measure, especially not one as laughably weak as this.
Even if it had been a much more elaborate fake, the "they had a website" defense remains my favourite part of the story.
(Actually, almost: the best part of the story, as David Slack has pointed out, is that it exposed Key's support for commercial whaling.)

Fantastic! Plus anything that helps erase the memory of the Giorgio Moroder/Queen version has to be a good thing.

Older people carry a mental supply of conversation-starters - polite personal inquiries, news of common acquaintances, events of interest or, if all else fails, the weather.
I've also noticed that racist and homophobic rejoinders tend to be quite popular with these older folk. Ah, the good old times.

In context: still dumb.

Yes, but often my articulate person is your smug wanker, no? It's not so much a fine line as something that depends on whether you agree or not with what they have to say.

I never could stomach the production values and occasional silliness of Babylon 5. One of the main characters rose to be "Emperor of the Republic" - come on!
