Hah! Well played sir.

What Craig said about the RWC. With bells on.
Isn't the last line of the article that Hadyn linked to just adorable?
Joe Lindsay, trombonist for Fat Freddy's Drop, which played some of the earliest carnivals, said the cancellation was a "stink buzz" as the carnival was "choice".
How nice of the Dominion to ask the opinion of little children, for a change.

I do wonder in this case if it's just provided convenient imagery for tv news to put in the background while they cover day 41 of the story
But we're supposed to be wanting to bypass that - why else would there be an iPhone app for it?

(After a certain point, I mean - of course I'm not disputing the fact that it's good to have more access to primary information than was the case before the Internet.)

Does more 'data' (if we can call imagery of oil spewing out that) cause less context/knowledge? Are there being resources being diverted from elsewhere to show these images or are they just additional?
Attention resources are beind diverted, our capacity to make sense of things. Think for how long, for how many hours a day, the American media covered the lead-up to the Iraq war. Did it make the public any more informed or, as I'd rather put it, better informed? We need better information, not more data. All these live feeds and infographics and live crosses just serve to defer forever the moment of synthesis and criticism.

I for one would like to have the pastry vs. dolphins argument. It's long overdue.

They were echoing the criteria that the Qantas awards were purportedly following
Really? Why? Isn't the whole point of the thing that they didn't like the Qantas awards?
Really enjoyed the show Russell. Go hour-long Media7! And Mr Barbosa is a great foil. Shades of the Blues Brothers when you were at the Samsung launch.

Can we go back in time and force Nigel at gunpoint to take off the stupid hat?
