New Music Mismanagement (RIP)
John Dix has been very charitable in this story"I think I enjoyed the touring most of all. It was always fun on the road. I had some great times.
Some will be glad that the 'what-happens-on-tour-stays-on-tour' ethos is still being invoked, there are stories out there that don't cast such a rosy light...
Different times, and different behaviours were acceptable, perhaps. These things have a habit of coming to light, eventually...
just sayin'...
I'm so thrilled that Corless says he eventually became a Toy Love 'fan', shame that that last tour they organised had so many added costs that it never broke even (and was a loss for the band), while we had to survive on a $10 per diem...
The only other pay off that tour was seeing some punk grab Benny Levin's wig off his head at one gig - and Craig Scott was an infinitely more friendly touring minder than Corless.
(add NaCl perhaps, as this is from what's left of my addled yet bitter memories)

Legal Beagle: A rather incomplete…, in reply to
partisan hacks...
You mean all the news has been substituted for dubious partisan propaganda? It’s always like that…
nice...
I see that APN (NZ Herald) seemingly escaped being hacked - probably as it is so lacking in influence, and is seen as helping the hackers aims rater than hindering them perhaps?

SIStemic failures...
here's a link to an older article
including the Murdoch Report into NZ Security services from 2009Threats also included "transboundary criminality, civilisational friction, resource rivalry and energy brinkmanship".
Meanwhile the UK Govt blames Facebook for their own inadequacies...
John Key must have had extra tutoring at the G20...

if I could turn back time...
Yesterday would have been the day to go here: submissions
There seems to be a mistake in their wording:This is an omnibus bill, introduced under Standing Order 263(a), that proposes amendments to the Customs and Excise Act 1996, the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service Act 1969, and the Passports Act 1992.
Surely they meant ominous...
;- )Key and co are just using fear to dragoon the country into more draconian control, and I'd warrant at the instigation of others beyond our shores (or at least to curry favour with same).
One wonders what the UN Security Council would recommend?

he just gets archer...
The whole thing’s just a game and you have to win. At the end of the day they’ll convert their victory points into some other medium: money, shares, property, board memberships; and just carry on playing a different game.
Hmmm - great elevator pitch!
I can see a whole movie franchise emerging from that
- in fact the latest instalment is in theatres now: Mocking JK
he certainly has 'a quivervocation' sorted... -

Cammy don't lose that number...
Mr Key confirmed this morning that he had given Slater his new cellphone number after he changed it during the election campaign.
Giving your number away is 'soliciting' calls or textes (as JK calls em)
Key's problem is that real communication can only happen between equals and he is peerless or he thinks he is, sadly he is well outside any esoteric coteries and he don't know sh*t! (or when to shut up - like Collins & Slater he is a gossipmonger)...

Is it kind of multi coloured and spikey with bells on it?
a telling pork pie...
stet son, let it stand...what about a 'boater'
he is always taking the 'pith'
and saying he 'mitre' done this or that
(but can't remember)
I'm guessing a Biretta or Yarmulke are out of the question on partisan grounds...and of course 'hat' derives from old words for 'hood'
so to cap it all off
Let's go with the Gatsby!
that seems to be the Party hat du jourPossibly how many heads does Key have
may be the more apposite question? -

They like the hits of the 70s and 80s in Plzen.
Not an aberration,
but the Abba-rations they were forced to consume... ? -
Ears looking at you kids...
a new (old) bug has come to light in 'the works'...and just a reminder to those who don't subscribe to the hard copy of ABC's excellent magazine Peace Researcher that it is available on line
