I've rarely been as moved by political speech as I was watching Metiria Turei speak today.
She is my Heroine, or something in the same vein, her honesty is addictive.

Now there's a disaster waiting to happen. A lot of local builders are, like totally pissed off about that. It was their chance to become the next Feltcher's, no chance now. Thank you Mr Brownoselea, minister of skulduggery.

One of the things ignored by the likes of Pullya Benefit and her hoards of resentful taxpayers is the fact that these beneficiaries spend their meagre incomes in local shops and businesses thus helping the economy. If it were made even more unpleasant to receive a benefit many would resort to theft and we are forever being told how much our police force costs every time they have to actually do what they are paid for. I was listening to a conversation this afternoon between a bunch of local business people who had been out fishing all day and were swilling back “A few well deserved beers” I got gradually more and more sickened by their conversation “Bloody freedom campers shitting everywhere, they don't spend any money up here”, “they are one of two types of people” one of them said, “Sickness beneficiaries or retire-ees ” not sure of the spelling of that last word but it seemed to differentiate between those with a good pension plan and those on super. I guess. They were a resentful bunch, resenting having to pay for anything and resenting those who can't afford to live the life of Riley…

Oh and by the way, the business model totally sucks for us, the taxpayer, As soon as the utility has a chance of making any money, we sell it to Telecom* Taxpayers carry the can if new service slow to win customers
* As Telecom is the countries largest ISP (hopefully that will change) -
Telecom already got that one, Telecom front-runner for rest of broadband project, back in December Telecom keeps control of premium broadband service Which is why I'm spittin tacks now, where's the fairness, where's the... oh what the fuck, this is what the nation voted for eh? National bollocks things up again.

I'm surprised nobody else is foaming at the mouth over this The Government is close to striking a deal with Telecom and Vodafone for its multi-million rural broadband initiative What happened to competition?, you remember, the whole reason for selling OUR assets. Seems Steven Joyce can't keep his tongue out of Telecom's trousers. Kordia/Woosh should have been a shoo in.

Has anybody bothered to read Mr Homes "analasys"?
Trouble for the Egyptian people is that there is so much poverty and it is so deep that the longer the disruption goes on the more the economy will grind down, shops will close, jobs will be lost.
Of course Mr Homes, it's all about the Economy eh?

I think some people do the volunteer thing for the uniform, some people just love a uniform, eh :-)

There are people that are dead to me now but still have lives of their own. There are those that no longer have lives but will live with me forever.
