Cost is certainly a factor, but may change. So may efficiency. You're still stuck with the upper bound of how much solar power falls on each square meter of kiwi soil.
David Mackay calculates an average of 13kWh/day in Britain for a person who can find 10 square meters of equator-facing roof. That will go some ways towards powering your house, but will never cover 100% of our energy needs.
(Or is the idea to have solar on 100% of roofs? I'm down for that. Leaving aside the grass-roofed lacto-pharmaceuticals building in ChCh, of course.)

It's easy for a city to show low emissions if they're importing everything they consume from some other place that cops the emissions incurred in production.
If you only include emissions of CO2 from fossil fuel use (eg. ignore methane from agriculture) then Spain and NZ come out about the same per capita emissions.If you wouldn't count a city's emissions without reference to it's imports (and exports), then why settle for country figures with the same flaw?
Carbon Footprint of Nations lists Spain at 10.9 and and NZ at 11.4, which is still quite similar. This figure includes the methane from NZ's agriculture, which is mostly exported and therefore counts against the consumer country's footprint.

I do feel that this relates to the same-sex marriage debate, insomuch as various proposed scopes of marriage form a subset of such relationships. This has pushed me to advocate the disestablishment of marriage, with a view to gradual expansion of civil unions, but it seems that others feel marriage itself is an important political target. I'm still chewing over that.

Avondale Market is awesome - fresh veg. that lasts way beyond any reasonable expectation. (If you buy from the right stalls, anyhow.) Cheap, and conveniently close to home.
Make sure you put a rack and panniers on that butcher's bike in case you find a sweet deal in the flea market, or take a fancy to a lemon tree.

The only positive memory I have of cheerleaders at rugby was when the Auckland ones approached the terraces during a certain Shield match. Cowbells drove them away immediately.

I like the argument that one of the copies might be legitimately held, but could also imagine simple mechanisms to re-assert your right to a file. I have no idea where the DMCA falls on such questions, and expect a lot of lawyers' time to be spent here.

You have no evidence that MU deduped and the allegations make no mention of it.
The indictment clearly claims (para 22) that MU did de-dupe (using MD5 hashes). It goes on to say that they demonstrated the ability to remove underlying content w.r.t. terrorist and child-porn material. Yet they never did this for DMCA complaints. It is also claimed that they misled copyright holders over this in "negotiations" over their 'Abuse Tool'.

Is there anything to the Racketeering and Money Laundering charges other than openly carrying on an international business that you know is illegal? I expect those words to imply secrecy and deception, but only found money being openly moved across borders like any business might do these days.

There has been some talk in this cup about how quiet and apathetic the NZ crowds are. I guess this is the result of 15+ years of being "entertained" at rugby. We've forgotten about being interested in the actual game, and being thrilled by the sound of 60,000 people roaring in excitement.
I've never been impressed by the Eden Park crowd at the few games I have attended. I remember a handful of French outdoing the entire terraces in 1994, and the member's stand might as well have been empty. Possibly just an Auckland thing - the Waikato fans were certainly noisy both times I saw them take the Shield home.
