there's a mickysavage at te standard
That may be who I thought of. Or possibly that's also our Michael Savidge. Or it's homage.

Ok Deborah.
You're wrong. But I'm sure you're a lovely person.
Oh wait. On the subject of "princess" Diana, you aren't wrong. She was a publicity-mad lunatic, and if one goes hooning through narrow tunnels at 160kph with a driver who's off his face on booze 'n' drugs, one has to expect it to end in tears. Really.

I don't know, but there must be something seriously wrong when I find myself agreeing with Deborah Coddington.
(Was that the actual Ms C, or is it like the person who posts on here as Michael Savage?)

@Peter Ashby
Ok, but only for a few items under strict control, not to resurrect rotten chicken and the like.
I don't have any problem with ionising radiation sources being used under proper control for suitable purposes, such as medical and industrial uses. You probably even have one in your smoke alarm.
I never said that ionising radiation made things radioactive. (It does, but not to any appreciable amount in the doses used for X-rays and food irradiation applications).
Gamma and X- radiation is very different from non-ionising radiation such as microwaves. The former can kill microorganisms and cause chemical change - the latter does not (to any appreciable degree). You can't sterilise stuff in a microwave (except through heating).

There certainly is! A revolutionary vanguard that smashes the state and imposes a dictatorship of the proletariat! Who's with me comrades?
Alternatively, we could run society through a "federated, decentralized system of free associations, incorporating economic as well as other social institutions"

Yes, what about *her* poor victims.
Oh wait. There aren't any...

folic acid
talk to a Reiki (!) convention on CAM
getting rid of fluoridation
blanket GMO ban, banning food irradiation (what about microwaves?)Three line items and a speech.
I'd add that they suggest *alternatives* to community "medication". This is (although not scientifically justified) consistent with respect for individual choice.
I'd also add that the policy bans the sale of GMO foods, not controlled and contained experiments. One day, we will know how to safely manage and use genetic modification techniques on food crops. That day hasn't come yet.
Also, microwaves are not irradiation. Food irradiation involves the industrial use of *ionising* ration (gamma and X-rays) to kill microorganisms. This has numerous problems (chemical change caused by ionisation, failure to adequately destroy nasties). For those reasons it's banned here and in several other countries.

Muriel will never get into parliament.
She was an MP for nine years Mikee.

I would not join the Greens because of the opposition to science and adherence to New Age mumbo jumbo among a substantial bloc of its membership.
Like I always say: http://www.greens.org.nz/policy
Please link said craziness, mmk?
They have a few things I disagree with, like allowing *any* public money to be spent on "complementary" health care. But that pales into insignificance behind the things that every other mainstream party supports.

I consider venality rather than being the voting public c urse on itself is more the domain of politicians and civil servants the characteristics of which are to be able to be bought, the readiness to sell influence and service and to sacrifice principles for sordid motives.
IMHO the reason we are so behind Australia is the lack of real leadership over the past two or more decades.
What?
You think our politicians are more corrupt than the Aussies? Come on. Fiddling a few bottles of wine doesn't compare to having your opponents murdered. Even getting visas for Thai overstayers doesn't really come near that level.
Or are you referring to the heinous, heinous crime of letting one's driver exceed the speed limit?
