I still haven't heard from Blair Parkes, who was down as the musical talent. Worries me a bit.
Blair is ok, I've heard. I've just had a text from his fellow L.E.D-er Marcus Thomas who said "have heard through grapevine that he is ok. chimney down, I think. He doesn't seem to respond to texts"
So it looks like he, Amanda and their youngster are ok, but the cell towers in Sumner / Brighton are probably just kaput.
Also, Helen Greenfield, their L.E.D.s bandmate lives in Lyttelton and is ok, apart from a rather messy house, according to her F/b page.

Key's just said that the reforms will be unlikely to be introduced before the election, surprise, surprise.
As an aside, it'll be interesting to see if Bennett holds on to Waitakere and if there's a backlash from beneficiaries in her electorate voting against her.

So both Broad and Pope are jumping before they're pushed. It'll be interesting to see if the new Chief Commissioner implents many of the report's recommendations. I've a horrible feeling things won't change much, though.

A friend of mine is a bean-counter in the Auckland corporate scene and he reckons the word among that crowd is that Brash is keen to get back in to politics. The recent Orewa-2 speech was a bit of kite flying, it'd seem.
It is pretty odd that the neoliberal diehards are unhappy. National and ACT are in power and odds-on faves to hose in next year, yet they still whine ? Surely they'd be happy with how things are and take a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach ?

On the other hand, yep, good news about a new L.E.Ds album. But you forgot to include Helen alongside Blair and Marcus, Russell.
