  • Field Theory: LOLWTFBBQ,

But I'm yet to find a beer that I've thought tasted awful enough not to want/need to drink.

And that sweet sickly Lion Red might be that beer, after all it is "The Measure of a Man's Thirst". That slogan always stuck me as an odd one, why would anybody brew a beer that only a really thirsty Man could drink?.
Maybe they really, really hate people, especially Women.

  • OnPoint: Table 6.2: 'Rich pricks' & Others,

That quote of Mr. Key's. He is saying that to stop people hiding their income in a trust he will lower their tax rate to match that of the trust because they should pay their share?.
Scuse me but that is like saying we should raise the speed limit to stop people speeding.

  • Speaker: Towards a realistic drug policy,

I just hate that for two days after a shampoo wash I look like this.

So, that's what you look like without your sunglasses.
The red eye is a bit of a give away.

  • Hard News: Space for Ol Dat I See,

for me gearing needs to be suitable for a good Mt Vic hill climb.

If you ain't in top gear yer a poof. ;-)
Way back a few years I became an involuntary cyclist (read lost my driving licence) There was this one hill I had to negotiate on my way to work each morning. First day I got barely a quarter of the way up regardless of which gear I was in, after a couple of weeks I could just manage to get to the top without dismounting, after three months I could sail to the summit in top gear. I felt sooo tough. How tough? Chuck Norris is a poof too.
    ;-)

  • Speaker: Towards a realistic drug policy,

My point was about acknowledging the very real health risks, not criminality.

Sigh. As I said before "Life itself, is fatal" in 100% of cases of life death is the only outcome. Plus the fact that life is full of risk, soap is more dangerous than cannabis, you slip on the soap in the shower, end up with brain damage when your head hits the handbasin, should we ban soap?. That bus you just missed would have killed you if you were standing in front of it, should we ban buses?.
You can wrap yourself up in "cotton wool" and never leave the house, don't smoke, don't eat fat, don't eat meat, in fact don't eat anything, the quicker you die, the less risk you take but life without risk is a life unlived.
There are so many things that are "Bad for you" a couple of years back it was eggs FFS. If you want to go through your short life worrying about what might happen then fine but if you want to stop worrying and put a smile on your face I suggest a big fat joint. Then you can sit back and get paranoid about the cops busting down your door, for your own good.

  • Up Front: The Naked and the Dude,

When it comes to nakedness, as opposed to nudity, the British painter Lucien Freud is hard to beat.

I know the appreciation of art should be purely subjective but purleeze. Mr Freud's concept of nudity has much to do with a rejection of his Grandfathers theories on Sexual Desire and the defence mechanism of repression, which in itself was a reaction to Victorian "Values" and I, for one, wish to see him locked up in the tower for his depiction of our dear old queen, Elizabeth that is, not Craig.

<stands back to get better view of fireworks>
