Did anyone got - reports?
Must admit to being a little jaded at all the bands of my youth wanting my patronage and as such am very picky, Wedding Present I could live without

Hype Wrong - having your release hit the number one spot is most surely gratifying... but it is way better to climb and maintain position (thus sales) than to appear for an instant... pat yourself on the back only to see chart position and thus sales slide away.
Especially for a independent release, ie those that have limited to very limited marketing budgets
Build your fanbase, build your sales and with (serious) luck build a career
Saying all that well done @peace
its a sunny day

Its a great service - one has to wonder just how much would be saved by scrapping it? - insert small minded regressive penny pinching rant here

Was a great day, I managed from Kings Of Convenience (nice they were too) through to the end of Jaar - usually tired legs and crowd boredom would see me home much earlier
Enjoyed the rocky acts the most - a style of music that suits these big affairs, Cloud Nothings 15 minute rock wig out was most enjoyable in the baking hot sun
Jaar whilst very enjoyable also bored me, a bit, his set would have sat better between DJs (ie no breaks), not as stand alone, lots of cutting elements and bringing them back a la teasing club styles perfectly done to bring on those chemical rushes... I wanted more songs less club as he is more than capable.
The new spaces and added shade was very well done, sucked the bar got closed down and the beer runout just as I needed one too
All up its a real nice day of music which the promoters have done well to improve on year after year in both lineups and venue, well done!

the crux of the problem is everyone wants to get paid....

According to what I've read Megabox will only replace a "small percentage" of existing ads with those from Megabox, which is still intrusive imo - so instead of from f**k all to zero its perhaps more accurate to say from f**k all to sweet f**k all from a revenue point of view
Given users have to agree to install the software to get their carrot (free music)... I'd suggest it won't be highly attractive to your average web user - who won't be bothered installing the software - unless the music offering is either deemed very cool (niche as hell) or very mainstream which the major labels all but totally control, still.
Seems like a project destined for mockery and failure - hat ready to be ate
Mega I can see the merits and business case for but the other just seems stupid

Jaar is awesome, so looking forward to seeing him - his Resident Advisor podcast last year was sublime - http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast-episode.aspx?exchange=97 (still avail to dl) - beats fans subscribe via itunes, they'll all good!!!)
Last couple of days I've been listening to the free Stinky Jim tune (cheers dubdotdash for the heads up) its fab
Though summer for me is loads of oldies to compliment sun (hot) and beer (cold), from rock, to dance and always a healthy dose of reggae

Re: Spotify playlist - you need to subscribe and then you can add to the playlist
As for emails facebook alerts et al (David) - create a email rule and folder to file those pesky reminders out of sight or move to trash option... its not like spotify is unique in its need to tell you everything all the time via multiple channels so deal with it and move on
the ability to share for no dollars down is I think a wonderful thing - takes the luxury of ownership out of the equation, for not everyone wants to own nor collect files/formats but we universally all love music
-
it's "complicated" - used whenever one doesn't want to explain anything to anyone ever

wish some forward thinker would bung these chaps into a vineyard - not sure I can manage a trip across the ditch to see them, throw in swans for good measure and hey presto crowd of 23
