Coming to think of it this reads ominously like a Seasteader's anthem, especially given Peter Thiel's obsession with anti-geriatric medicine:

In that bright land, there'll be no hunger,
no orphan children cryin' for bread,
no weeping widows, toil or struggle,
no shrouds, no coffins, and no death.

There is no depression in New Zealand

    Or the original "No Depression":

I’m going where there’s no resource consent process,
to the lovely land that’s free from abrogations of my property rights.

    Corporations are people too, eh.

Yeah, but with a name like that can BAT claim to be a person of New Zealand?

democracy is poorer for excluding people/companies from shaping policy in New Zealand.

    Democracy:

The term comes from the Greek: δημοκρατία – (dēmokratía) "rule of the people"

Remind me again in what way BAT is a member of the people of New Zealand?

    PAS hivemind

I tend to think that people who accuse PAS of this haven't read the tagline, right at the top of the page. It's a community; of course members have some things in common, be it views and opinions or just an idea of the "right" way to disagree. If it didn't have that, it wouldn't be a community.

I feel vaguely terrified that I’ll be in my mid-50s by the time my child is a teenager.

I'll have barely started my 30s - that's terrifying. Which is in itself a construct of modern attitudes to child-rearing and -birth, of course.

I would be deeply, deeply embarrassed to be offered money by a customer.

Funny, that’s exactly what Shelley Bridgeman said and I believe the Herald had to close the comments for that piece.

Hmm, one might conclude that's what she was trying to say, if one were feeling charitable.

No one should ever feel bad for deciding not to breast feed. It’s their own business. But encouraging someone to do so is just totally freakin’ great.

Sure. The problem is the line between encouraging women to breastfeed, and shaming and obstructing those who can't, no matter how legitimate their reasons.

Notice how they only advertise “toddler milk”

Which has been argued was invented purely to get around the advertising rules which ban formula being advertised for newborns.

Hmm, I suspect it was invented just as much because the industry produces more dairy whey byproducts than infant formula alone can use up.
