If it helps, Danielle, we could make that list of 'things a lady should be able to do', and then gleefully celebrate not being able to do any of them.
I'm quite glad I don't know how to make those delicate looking cucumber or watercress sandwiches.

There's also a nice piece by Sarah Daniell about how Peter Bromhead got the sack and a Qantas award for outstanding achievement in the same week.
Boy, definitely reading things too fast (back after lunch before heading into the lab) - read that as "a nice piece by Sarah Daniell about how Peter Bromhead was in the sack ..."

My thought is that if the Chiefs really rated him they would have him start the game at 8 and then shift to 6 when Lauaki comes on as an impact player. Or, if he was a better 8 than Lauaki start them both but with Lauaki playing 6.
but that wouldn't work if him being a better 8 than Lauaki didn't make up for Lauaki being a much worse 6 than Messam ....

Apart from all the obvious, a standout for me was the 1976 Doctor Who 6-episode story The Seeds of Doom wherein various people became infected with a virus (or something) that gradually turned them into plant-creatures.
I've never been good with scary movies, but I remember being horrified by the Dr Who episodes with the giant maggots.
When we went to the release of the director's cut of the Exorcist, my boyfriend kept asking me if I needed to leave. It may have been the way my fingernails were digging into his leg ....

I think it may depend on where in the states you are.
I generally see a sizable number of people sleeping on the light rail on the way to the uni in the morning in Denver. -

Too busy being depressed by that embarrassment of a penalty shoot out to even bite at that one.
Of course - it's not like I take many penalty shots for my team, but even I don't tend to shoot _quite_ that wide of the post.

Now if only someone had told me about the correct sacrificial process before the last three months of PCRs and gels, that would have been really helpful. As it was, I mostly resorted to scowling at the DNA samples to try and make them behave.
The PCR gods are fickle and demand sacrifice.
Apparantly summer students please them most but it can be difficult to explain to the graduate centre. -
We used to sacrifice to Barbie to get difficult PCRs to work
When I was doing my masters we had moved on to making sacrifice to a fluorescent green plastic alien to make the PCRs work.
I wonder if there's a statement in there about the culture change ... -
The road trip I remember most is the one my family took several times a year from Paremata up to Te Kauwhata to see the grandparents.
My folks used to get us up at 4 in the morning, and pile us into the back of the car, packed in with pillows, so we'd go back to sleep and my Dad would get a couple of hours of driving in peace (given it used to be a 7 hour drive if you don't stop).
Nothing like waking up and watching the sun come up way out in the NZ countryside as you go ...
