Sweatiest gig Trouble Funk - Hammersmith Palais 1987 Washington DC GoGo, crowd was bouncing from the DJ intro and didn't stop for 2 hours.

First international concert: Alice Cooper: Welcome to my Nightmare - Western Springs, 1977 so age 16
Loudest gig: A tie between the Gordons at Reverb Room 1981 (where the two guitarists exchanged instruments mid song and I couldn't hear a bit of difference) and the Swans at the Astoria, London 1988 - the first time I could feel my rib cage reverberate in time to the music. Remember kids, wear those ear plugs, they might look dorky, but my ears are shot now...
If school counts: Citizen Band at Rangitoto College in 1978 - I collared Mike Chunn a couple of years ago to tell him how much I enjoyed it, but alas he couldn't remember the event as clearly as me.
I remember that Clash concert at the Logan Campbell Centre, I even had the cassette of the gig, where did that go?

Legal Beagle: Think it possible that you…, in reply to
I’m rather surprised that this post does not even once reference Giovanni Tiso’s compelling writing on The Business of Free Speech.
A lovely piece of writing for sure. I do note that Gio explicitly refers to "sponsor boycotts" though...
Waiting for Gio's post here

If you search filestube.com for "lee child free download" as per the twitter image, the first page that comes back has 7 links to mega.co.nz. Top two links point to 4shared.com. No links for "eleanor catton free download" though...

One thing you can say about the Aussies, they may be crap at rugby but, by god, they know how to do political corruption. I'll see your puny employment reference (verbal or written) and raise you a 100 million dollar coal mine, long term leases on waterfront land and a prostitute called Tiffany. Hell, even Banksy didn't spend Kim DotCom's $50K on hookers and blow.

I remember being advised by the deBretts bouncer to stay in the pub for a bit which was nice as it was already closing time. When we did eventually staggered out (they kept the bar open) and wandered up Queen St, the carnage was quite staggering. A few knots of nervous policemen and the general populous looking for "bargains" - "there's still some scarves left in the Tie Shop" we were helpfully informed...
