This year I'll be happy with the ABs finishing in the top 10. Anything above that is just gravy.
Too much disappointment in the past, especially against teams that really failed to follow up their great performances against NZ in the semi with decent performances in the next match.
(France were awful against Aus in the 99 final and against England in the 07 semi, Aus let thier league converts throw the game away for them in the 03 final)

OnPoint: Sock-Puppeting Big Tobacco to…, in reply to
Am now looking forward (not) to a series of satirically titled Don Brash speeches, plundering the best lines from centuries of protest literature. "A spectre is haunting New Zealand"; "If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your fiscal strategy", etc.

What do the kids listen to these days? I'm afraid I'm unfairly showing the Don's age. -

I'm sure the coach and the selectors agree with you, but we don't want to assume that Smith will be blessed with perfect health and stamina for every minute of the world cup, do we?
Then they should pick a specialist Centre to back him up. If they're gonna pick a utility to back up those positions, I'd like one with half a brain.

I reckon that's a risk, playing Conrad with Ma'a seems to get the best out of Ma'a, playing Williams with Ma'a fills me with dread.
I'd rather the ounce of brains that Conrad brings than the kilo of grunt that Nonu or Sonny-Bill bring. For me the choice is Ma'a/SBW, with Conrad the consistent starter (given that Kahui is crocked again).
The Boks weren't the rabble they had been against the Wallabies, they were merely incompetent. -

Thank you for that response Craig. Verbalised my anger very well.

Flavell's piece made me want to be sick. The insensitive prick.
As for Farrar, from the wikipedia entry on Nixon's Southern Strategy:
He was able to appear moderate to most Americans because the Southern strategy referred to integration obliquely through references to states' rights and busing. This tactic was later described by liberals in the media as "dog-whistle politics'

I wouldn't call it vigilantism, this is civil disobedience.
News & its ilk have a role in our government which they have abused in pursuit of a dollar, so hitting them in the purse ever so slightly is the least they deserve.
