  • Hard News: F**kin' Choice,

I unkindly wondered if Pamela Stirling has a thing for Gareth Morgan, given as how he seems to have become the Oracle of Teh Listener.

Used to read it pretty much cover-to-cover...now it is just for doing the crossword with My Darling while we breakfast in bed on a Saturday.

I may have to check out Metro again - I've only browsed it at the dentists' in the last few years.

  • Up Front: Newsflash: Women Have Eyes,

My apologies for even the merest suggestion that Megan is anything other than ravishing.

  • Up Front: Newsflash: Women Have Eyes,

Fear not, Ms Wegan, for it is my belief that the most attractive thing about a woman is an air of confidence . Admittedly, I am not in the 1st blush of youth and would not turn your head in the beefcake stakes, but over the years I have come to realise that the overall outward appearance is only slightly important.

But that 'head up, shoulders back' look of confidence is one of the sexiest damn things a woman can wear.

We are all hampered (or helped, for the very fortunate) by our genes, but the confidence thing is something we can work at, regardless of genetic inheritance.

[I never would have fit the parameters for inclusion in Filament.]

  • Island Life: Burn fat, not oil,

I didn't see the tv report, but Paul Henry's antipathy is partly because he is really keen on cars and has a dislike & no respect for other forms of transport.

Not that that makes him a dickhead...

The Swiss Guard are, I believe, the stripey-costumed ones of whom you post, Emma.

  • Hard News: A little liberal line in the sand,

Hell, the MailMarshall squelches a lot of my emails so I hate to think how the security team would react to this.

I kinda figured they were SFW because they didn't have a NSFW disclaimer and we're a responsible bunch of lefties, eh?

It'll keep until I get home. Somewhere between making dinner and watching footy, that's the time for the big F.U.

I guess that's one that will have to wait till I get home...

  • Hard News: Stop the Enabling,

Re the time taken to return the verdict...I'm cynical enough to imagine that 1 of 12 decided to string it out till tea-time so they could get a free feed after having been co-opted into jury service for the day.

Not saying that's what happened but it is 1 of a myriad of possible reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with not being sure if punching your kid in the face constitutes assault.

I think all of your regular readers knew the smiley was there implicitly.
