One day they might hire some actual talent that can compete with the consultants National use.
At least with Labour aiming at the target and missing, causing collateral damage amongst the "Hand Wringing Set" we know that they are not just having "Brain Farts" and using expensive PR sluts to make their ideas seem, almost, sane.
It almost feels like the Left have been convinced by highly paid scribblers to believe that Labour is 100% Pure Evil and we need to experience Labour being perfect, beyond reproach and Godlike before we would entertain the merest inkling of the idea that we could trust them in Government.
Meanwhile, the "Filthy Few" filch the Countries finances to feather their fetid nests. -

No, that is not what I said at all. So Craig, while you are wringing your hands could you refrain from mangling my words.
If you're citing the existence of racism as justification for pandering to it, then you've unwittingly put your finger on the real problem here. It's just not the one you think it is.

Play with percentages all you like these numbers tell a much bigger story but the fact remains, New Zealand is a racist country and Twyford is a New Zealander.

No.... really... Barfoot and Thompson surely wouldn't do that, I mean, they are so supportive of Labour and heaven forbid, would they really talk up property values?.

The fact of the matter is that even your carefully written piece would still be regarded a racist because you dared to mention China, had we been talking about Americans or Germans or whoever as long as they were "westerners", this would never have been a "problem". -
Labour could have avoided the racist tag by, instead of using Asian/Chinese sounding names, using Foreign sounding names. Then they would have been labeled Xenophobic instead. The report would have been totally useless and said nothing of any worth, apart from indicating that Maori are buying very few houses.
But the handwringers amongst us would still find a way of badmouthing Labour because... well, that's what we do here, slag off Labour and wonder why National is still shafting all of us.

Yup, got my ire up I can tell you.
For those of you that don't wish to see it yourselves right now they have a "Property" article penned by Ann Gibson with the words "They should build, not buy" over a picture of some elderly Chinese people.
This harks back to what I said earlier about Racism being endemic in NZ.
To be honest it made me feel a little sick.
So, for all those here bagging Twyford take a quick look in the mirror, Labour are NOT the bad guys here. -
Two things...
1. There has been anecdotal "evidence" of foreigners buying up Auckland properties, many point their fingers at people from China. This "data" has been bandied about and people are asking "why isn't the Government doing something about it"
This is the racist part, that many New Zealanders are racist, it is ingrained, it is not Labours fault.
The Government have done what they normally do when asked about something, they "refute" it, obviously with no actual refutation, and deny the question. They then go about the daunting task of collecting no information because... well... National.
When Labour try to hold National to task over what appears to be a correlation between "people with Chinese sounding names" and a large swathe of property sales National comes back with "Labour is racist and don't know anything because there is no real data" and proceeds to blame Labour for the extinction of the Dinosaurs.2. Baring in mind Europeans make up 56% of population and Maori 8%
Top 20% socio economic group:
European 70%
Maori 2%
Income over 50k:
European 76%
Maori 7%
House buyers:
European 40.7%
Maori 3.2%

Just a thought. I wonder if John Key will give nod to John Campbell for all the effort he put in to get the All Blacks to Samoa?.
I mean, if he doesn't, would that make people think that the demise of Campbell Live was something that he wanted?.
And that little story Campell uncovered about money, raised for that historic event, being ,apparently, misappropriated. Would that have any bearing on the above question?.

Don't forget fear, fear of having to cough up some of your "Hard Earned Money™" like a tax on the capital gain of your property portfolio or having to pay proper wages to the workers of your cleaning company that services your nice little Govt. contract.
Fear leads to selfishness, survival if you like and this lot will try to survive by all means fair or foul.
Labour's job is to rally the workers support by supporting the workers, the people that do the work that profits armchair investors. The hard part is proving that National is scaremongering when it says "Labour has no policy and the policy they have is wrong", which should be easy as National lie about most things but when you tell a lie often enough....

My computer seems to be going backwards
The calculation of our National debt has many variables, one of which is the fact that we do not borrow in NZ dollars. Other factors include foreign investors, who expect to make a buck or five, "income" from the Chch insurance claims from overseas re-insurers, expected income from foreign investments, which may be defaulted on. Did we loan to Greece?
If you ignore one or two of these variables we could seem to be getting ahead but when you look at the big picture it all starts getting wobbly but the main thing to take into account is that it is geared to wealth creation and that wealth is in US dollars and it ain't our wealth.
