And what's telling is that the article states:
None of the Auckland shops listed as "members" on ACR's website said they were in fact paying members. All but one said they had never even heard of the association.
That reminds me of the Generation Lost astroturf job some 10 years earlier. A great many of the people listed on the poster later came out saying their names were used without authorisation, and more of them weren't even 'young New Zealanders' but rather middle-aged grumps with an axe to grind. The shark truly jumped when the majority sponsor turned out to be our old friends at the Business Roundtable. That's when Commando Clark brought out the political anti-ballistic missiles.
I also vividly recall on the Holmes show back then, one expat living in London was blow-hardily gloating he could spend as much as he liked on expensive brands like Gucci.

My local dairys just started selling deep fried blubber. Delicious and nutricious, as they say.
Isn't that the same dairy that also sells elephant ivory flick-knives and kereru omelette?

I remember earlier in this millennium, there was a propaganda exercise on radio called "More Radio Choice" which attacked the Clark-Anderton Govt's proposal for a youth radio station, using university-age voice-overs to target a specific demographic. The contact address was given as a Hotmail account, which was later revealed to be a front for the Radio Broadcasters Association.

Inwood has also been involved with those quasi-suburbanists at Waterfront Watch.
Like the Melbourne Docklands, the Welly Waterfront still got developed, and it's still open to the public.

What next? Classifying "Up In Smoke" as objectionable material? Let's not forget burning books to boot.

Gratz!

The timing of the arrests appears to be very deliberate. This is the week that submissions close on the Misuse of Drugs Act review, and of the annual law reform protest. This looks way too political for my liking.
It comes across to me as somewhat Wag-the-Doggish. Distract from the issues that really matter by finding a scapegoat.

Justthinking:
I'm in favour of a broken windows law. Not a euphamism but a law that states that land lords of poor housing and businesses will be prosecuted if they don't act.
I wasn't referring to Rudy Giuliani's Broken Windows policy, but rather Frederick Bastiat's Broken Window parable.

Co-worker points out that significant criminal activity keeps cops in a job, for a start.
Parable of the Broken Window, anybody? And funnily enough, we're installing CCTVs in our cities instead of sending our boys in blue on the beat.

You don't know how many times in the course of my work I get told by ignorant monocultural English speakers that Italian shouldn't need all those accents.
Some people need to stop marrying their siblings and cousins if they're getting worked up over a few pen strokes.
