    Meanwhile down south a ways, in that Tiny Emirate Manufacturing Useful Kaolithic Artefacts, (aka Temuka)...

    Here roadside art is supported and watched over by the locals - The Jolly Potter publican popped over when he saw us taking photos, to say that it usually looks better, with a glowing spiral curve but vandals have knocked it out of whack, but he has them on his CCTV, and is working towards getting it fixed properly, heartening to see that level of community engagement.
    (this particular installation was sponsored by locally-owned electricity distribution grid network, Alpine Energy.

    This was part of the 2009 Meridian Heartland Sculpture Challenge, one hopes a half sold-off Meridian will still be supporting the local arts community, further down the track...

    Chchch update: The Last Word has opened in the newly opened New Regent St (run by the same good folk who brought you the Darkroom Bar* in St Asaph st – by Galaxy Records ) – even the ‘opposition’ like them (Johnny Moore runs Smash Palace )!

    *Zen Mantra, Salad Boys, Villain play the Darkroom tonight (saturday 18 May)

    The Brewery, their excellent flagship enterprise on is open as always.
