  • Hard News: The Hager saga continues,

I must admit the revelation on nat radio this morning that Slater (spit) et al are in the process of starting their own agency sort of sent a shiver down my spine - it's an obvious ploy to try and control the press just a little bit more and to make the Nat's message the only one that many people hear

  • Hard News: The Hager saga continues,

In Chrome if I click on the redacted email address it pops up a response email window addressed to the correct person (spit)

(kind of a textbook example of what happens when you hide the data but keep the metadata around)

  • Legal Beagle: Terrorism is already illegal,

It's kind of worse than "Key lies" - more like PM doesn't understand the laws he's supposed to be using to run the country. His crime if any is (possibly willful) ignorance

  • Hard News: Terror panics and the war imperative,

As far as I can tell there’s just one home grown jihadist right? and he’s gone to Syria, torn up his passport and now after a dose of reality he’s had second thoughts about what he’s done and wants to come home.

Is that a real reason for Key to head off down the police state road? can't we just get his Mum to give him a good talking to?

  • Hard News: Terror panics and the war imperative,

Please someone make the point that sending troops endangers New Zealanders traveling overseas, it effectively devalues our passports and the security they provide.

  • Hard News: Dirty Politics,

Of course the US has 'privatised' its consulate in another way - basically they charge you by the hour to visit them (or talk to them on the phone) - better have a credit card if you have a question - and be able to travel to Auckland to renew your passport .....
