Secret taping? He went to a party meeting and talked to the candidates. That's a record of what they said to him. Peace = bad and shit like that.

Duncan could have said they'd be crossing to everyone, including Key. He didn't. And hey, turns out they've got the first exclusive with him tonight too. Imagine that. Great with a bit of ass-kissing does.
And yes, they're openly planning on killing MMP. Opening the funding again. I'll have three years of apoplexy with that lot if they're in. Non-stop. Veritable frothing.
-
Bloody Duncan Garner. Rough quote "We'll have half the votes counted by 9, all counted by 10, and John Key right here by 10:30."
Thanks mate. People still voting, nice of you to imply Key will be somehow very important cf all other politicians when the votes are counted. Biased fucker.

Craig, I don't have photo ID, as a non-drinking, non-driving, skipped the OE type I've simply never needed one. Opening bank accounts is a PITA, but that's a twice in life thus far task, so no big deal.
Liberty: given that it's illegal to vote twice, just as it's illegal to forge a photo ID, I don't see the need to make me prove myself innocent of either just to carry out my civil duties.
Non-trivial regardless: if you notice anyone cheating, dob them in. I certainly would. Even without that, due to our reasonably high turnouts, it'd be hard not to double up and that makes it fairly obvious what was going on once things are checked over. Everyone here knows everyone anyway. 8]

Yes
I've
voted
Quite the steady stream, definitely going to be a big turnout down here in Waitaki, and the rest of the South Island too by the weather. What's it like up north? Auckland and Northland?Turnout in the sate Māori seats will decide it I reckon. Have the interested parties done enough GOTV?
-
Condorcet if you want to express a single member preference. I think we should get one for the party vote too, STV would do, to handle 4.5%ers and left vs right rounding.
For instance, today, ACT, United, and National could all round up while Labour, the Greens, any Progressive all round down, or visa versa, which could change the government either way.

Well, says tussock, the cold chased me off to bed from the prospects thread instead, but sleep and I didn't see eye to eye.
Today my voice is as strong as the PM's, at least 'till 7pm, and so is yours if you'll use it. To use it or lose it, today. Eh.
I blame sleep deprivation. So, the challenge was laid to make this thread hit 10k? 60 pages, longest ever. I'll tell all of my quick walk to the booth if someone else breaks the ice, K?. 'S just, mine serves a very small community, and the two old dears who always seem to staff it are the only ones ever there. S'pose I better go.
And yes, nice days give better turnouts, which in turn favours you know who, which would make most of this board reasonably content.
-
Fark.
Can't sleep.
Just like a few days back. This whole political junkie thing, it's very xkcd.
Stupid one-track-mind-ism.
Still, at least there's some bargains going at predictmarkets.net
Buy low, sell high, have more patience than I.
At least it's not real money.Oh, wait, I'm +50k. Damn it, it's not real money.

Depending on Ron Mark.
GRN 13 13
JAP 01 01
LAB 43 41
MĀP 4+ 4+
NZF -- 05
UFY 02 02
NAT 52 49
ACT 05 05TOT 120+ either way. NZF just happens to steal 3 N and 2 L, but could be 1 Green instead of a Nat.
57-59 + Māori, or 55-56 + Māori + NZF. Hung either way, really.
Labor maybe pulls more Māori vote and pushes the overhang by
one. National maybe hangs on to more of the Act vote, but I think that lot are going home. Māori maybe wins 5, 6, or even 7, pushing the threshold. None of that can change the balance. -
Craig, that newsweek stuff's great (but then, I'm high on all this hope nonsense, everything's great today)
Heh. Palin's wardrobe was very much unauthorised, she just took herself on a party-paid-for spending spree. Thank the twelve gods that particular person is far from the white house and clearly facing wrath from some in the republican party. She's going to be fun for the media folk for a while yet, especially if she appoints herself senator.
<sigh> My old man used to tell me about how the US lead the world for the better, but I've never seen it. This president could potentially mobilise the people and their government to do some genuinely good things. Shit, if he gets them all basic primary health care it'd be amazing, but he seems just the sort to talk the people out of a catastrophic economic recession too, and he wants to join Kyoto and cut emissions, and get out of Iraq in much less than 100 years. After Reagan, Bush, the Clinton show, and Rove's mouthpiece, this president makes me hope the US could become significantly less evil and make the world a better place thereby. With apologies to the citizens of Afghanistan, who won't be so lucky.
