  • Hard News: All right, then – take me to Rio,

George Bennet did well to finish the road race without any bone fractures.

"That was the most brutal day I've been through." says a guy who completed the 3,500km Tour de France just two weeks ago.

Someone's got to figure out a way to sell Medicare For All to a population with Stockholm syndrome for health insurance and an allergy to federal tax. Higher tax - health insurance premium - deductible - outrageous overcharging throughout the system = more health and more money in yer pocket.

On November 8, Colorado is voting on whether to adopt a single-payer healthcare scheme dubbed ColoradoCare. The misinformation circulating it is super depressing. Even Democrats are campaigning against it.

Presidential terms becoming entrenched at 8 years is making campaigns more fraught, I feel. When each administration is going to be there for half a generation, the stakes are high. The last single term president was Bush (Senior).

I just encountered someone outside the local thrift store with a clipboard asking people entering or leaving "Want to help stop Trump?". Every interaction I saw ended with the subject walking away calling "I don't want either of them!" over their shoulder. #anecdata

Didn't the emails show DNC staffers pushing negative stories to the press about Sanders' religious views (in states sensitive to that topic) and suggesting a media-friend narrative for his failure? That seems on the nose for an organisation that is supposed to be - and claimed to be - neutral.

(Plus a much greater amount of plain old pissy attitude which is completely understandable - they're human).

There will be some – and US TV seemed to be lining up to interview them afterwards

The never-Clinton spite-voter seems completely overblown to me. I'm sure there are a few idiots but they're not representative. I went to a Bernie rally earlier this year - in Portland even - and there was no anti-Clinton vibe that I could detect. It was positive and policy focussed. I doubt that has suddenly changed since he conceded.

Maybe, but probably offset by the same number of conservatives who can't bring themselves to vote for Trump either. And a number of people who wouldn't normally vote may vote this time just to oppose one of the candidates.

    This election is completely bizarre.

The unwillingness of the richest country in the world to provide healthcare for it's citizens is just incomprehensible. It is beyond tragic that the issue has been kicked down the road by 8 more years.

The chanters in the audience are getting on my wick - Bernie, BLM, etc - for some reason the mic picks it all up and the speakers are having to shout over them to be heard, even with the PA. Sort it out ffs.

Most of the angry Bernie supporters I see are either white, male, collage educated or a combination of all three. i.e incredibly privileged

They don't see a difference between Trump and Clinton because for them nothing personally changes for them if either of them get elected.

Are you conflating the Bernie-or-bust fringe (who claim they'll vote Trump before Clinton) with the majority of regular Bernie supporters? The latter group certainly can tell the difference between Trump and Clinton and will vote accordingly.
