Yes, right here in Auckland, Steve. We used to have magic summers you know. Just the right weather for them.

We ate those in my childhood, Steve. We had a few plants in our garden. And we have a couple here, which we have eaten the fruit from. As for fejoa, we didn't have a tree in our backyard where I grew up (our backyard was actually Smale's Quarry, but that's another story) in Takapuna, and I think I may have eaten them as a child but I never liked them. Choko, however, grew wild out the back, and we did eat quite a bit of that. Loved them with cheese sauce. Mmmm.

Oh s/he's so lovely! I have great sadness that we've never taken many photos of our girl, Toru. But then, she was an explorer for most of her life - not a lot of photographic moments ever occurred with her that we ever saw due to her being otherwise engaged, elsewhere. And nowadays, she spends all her time sleeping, or just cruising, on our couch on the patio area thingy.

I second that. Russ's figs are particularly juicy and succulent. Little ruby gems, they are.

That is a beautiful table! Thanks for the tips, Robyn (and Laura).

Thanks for that, Russell. One of the most informed and reasonable takes on the whole debacle, I have read. And in accordance with my own views that everyone, on both sides, got a bit carried away. As people so often do, in my opinion.

That little girl is astounding, Ian. And jazz at 12? Seriously impressed.
