  • Hard News: Ambition,

I can see why the government would want to be a little more proactive.

We've had years of a duopoly mobile market, teased by the promise of Econet or the potential of network sharing (TelstraClear) without any genuine change. Speaking of which, anyone know when TelstraClear transition over to Telecom?

  • Hard News: Back in the mainstream,

Agreed. I also find overly keen young politicians a little repugnant and here was I thinking that was just me.

  • Island Life: Advance, etc,

One thing that does sadden me is that we will probably never experience a PM being evicted from the House after losing their seat while we have the version of MMP we do. I kind of like that it can happen on the odd occasion, it puts the fear into them.

  • Cracker: Mo' Wellington,

It doesn't matter what type of mustache one has it just matters that they have one. After all, this is all part of the "lets reclaim manly looks of yesteryear" campaign which perhaps some of you older types, who had the luxury of growing up during a pro mustache time don't really appreciate.

  • Hard News: Meet the New Bob,

I doubt it was a mews although I can't be certain. I've seen a bunch of mews about Wellington that are highly suspicious - like that one half way between Wilton and Karori.

I actually live in a mews now, and some kind stranger (well, real estate company that specialises in mews) gave me a free book on London mews. So I deem myself an expert on mewsness and Hill Street's garish orange brick flats lack the essential stableness or cobble stones that a true mews should have.

  • Hard News: Meet the New Bob,

I'd like a category for worst name of a block of flats or houses.

And you had your chance to suggest that back in October!

Well you just walk down Hill Street and see how you feel about it then Joanna. Then we will talk about "October" and "suggest".

  • Hard News: Meet the New Bob,

I'd like a category for worst name of a block of flats or houses. I'll also nominate "Hill Street Mews", on Hill street. I walked past that dammed place five days a week for two years and I think it scarred me for life.

  • Speaker: Family First, Blowjob Later,

All of this kind of makes me wonder what would happen if a genuine issue arose. If one organised chump can get this kind of reaction I wonder what a real protest movement could get?

  • Radiation: Desperate Heroes,

I guess one man can only watch so much sexy tv before he goes mad with moral rage, right?

But seriously though, picket Burger King, I want to see you guys in the Oddly Enough section of the foreign newspapers.

Well at least the lunatic fringe is still operating at full strength....did they put up a show for any of the film festivals this year?
